I’ve been on the hunt for some fracs for a while now. I’m looking for something with a light blue base colour and keep coming back to the Paris 1’s. The problem is they are THC and my entire set is RHC.

I’ve heard some chippers say it’s fine, others say never to mix. Some also mentioned that the two molds have very different feels which is worrisome when trying to build a set. These would be over labelled also.

Im trying to remain patient but curious thoughts?

Personal preference. Several Vegas casinos have $1 THC and rhc/ihc for the rest of the lineup. Could certainly just be placeholder chips w always the chance for changing it.

Give it a try. See how you like it.

I’ve tried using chips with sets that I thought I would like, but after seeing them together and playing with them, I didn’t like them.
I’ve also tried chips together that broke the rules. And I liked them. So screw the rules, make your own rules.

All things being equal, I say don’t mix if you can help it.

BUT, things are rarely equal. When you’re trying to put a set together with the right colors and spot combinations, sometimes you just don’t have many options of pieces to put together. I’ve got a few sets where I’m mixing THC and RHC for the betterment of the overall aesthetic of the set.

Sure, in a splashed pot they’ll really be mixed up, but once you stack them in front of you, they’ll all be in like stacks. Shuffling them will all be like on like. And while there are differences between the RHC and THC, personally I think it’s much more noticeable if you’re mixing house molds, roulettes, THC, etc (that’s et cetera, not a new Paulson mold (I should probably apologize for that joke, but I don’t want to))

Bottom line, do what will make you happy, and change it later if you want. While the hunt for the right pieces can be fun, it’s tough to host a game or appreciate a set if you wont settle for anything but the “perfect” fit.

Thanks for the feedback. With Paris 1’s being relatively inexpensive if it doesn’t work for me I will change them out but as @Benjaminotaur said I can’t host my normal game with the current line so I need something in the meantime. We have a game coming up next weekend and we are doing 1/1 vs .50/1 since I haven’t found fracs yet.

Now I need to find a nice sharp rack of Paris 1’s…

Totally up to you. Some people’s OCD (mine included…sometimes) say NEVER. Heck, there have been countless casinos over time that have mixed molds, and some that have even mixed clay and plastic. Do what makes you happy.

I have pretty major OCD at times. Even this over label process caused my OCD to flare up at times. I’m not going to rush to make a decision but I do need something to fill the spot in the line up until I find something more permanent

I have a bunch of RHC solids that might make good frac candidates. Let me know if you want to talk.

Royal Blue RHC solids. I want to see them in person as the photo makes them look dark but some of the searches I did they look lighter. Still on the darker side but lighter than the photo below
