Hi PCF folks hope all is well. I wanted to hear your thoughts. I've managed to corral the following:
(800) $1s
(660) $5s
(800) $25s
(620) $100s
(240) $500s
(580) $1,000s
(180) $5,000s
(80) $25,000s
I know for a fact I can sit 80 players comfortably with the current set at a T1 & [10/8/10/2] & 500 starting stack configuration. The highest event we had I would say is under 80 players. How big of an event can I realistically hold (freezeout, no rebuy, late entry allowed)? Space/cards/buttons is not a limitation.
I figure as players get knocked out from the 80, I can add 'alternatives'/'standby' players in with five black. Or, I can hand them a stack of five $100 black chips at the very start and ask them to make change at the table (for the tight dudes at the table that don't play any hands).
If I wanted to future proof the T1 set for growth, do I buy more $25s? more $5s? I don't think I'll need more 1s as they're gone in the first 75~90 minutes. Maybe additional stacks consist of 12 $25s and 2 $100s for the tight players that won't be playing many hands.
Also, if I had a choice, should I be making tables 8max or 6max? I have to decide on the toppers I'm getting. Obviously 8max will allow me to 'save' on the toppers but I currently have five of the 6max mats so I may just stick to 6max mats to be consistent. Or might just treat those toppers as a sunk cost and switch to 8 max. In theory the 6 max can hold 8 players but it is tight.
For events larger than 100 players the event length would be 5.5~6hrs. For smaller events ~4hrs.
If it helps, this is a 'could' question not a 'should' question obviously would have to plan the logistics of an 80+ player event.
