We don’t play many tournaments but we may do an occasional to help get new players in cheap.

We may do 2x a year and I really don’t have a nice cash set yet so I’d rather keep it under $200.

Looking for a T20,000 set for 12 people

Right now due to price I’m looking at a Monte Carlo or the outlaw chips, but I would be open to ideas

Nothing wrong with a good set of metal slug chips

If your players like shuffling chips make sure to get high quality chips without flashing on the rolling edge. I have some lower quality Monte Carlos and they are great colors, but the flashing really annoys some people.

I think the Monte Carlo or Outlaws are about the best of the inexpensive chips, and are great for a tourney set. I had the Monacos (which seem to be the same material as the Outlaws) and I was very happy with them.

For $200 bucks covering 12 people? I tell em to go fuck themselves if they complain about flashing lol.

I got my Monacos from Discount Poker Shop, and they didn’t have any flashing. They felt really nice and weren’t too slippery.

$25 x 150
$100 x 150
$500 x 75
$1000x 150
$5000 x 75

This should work well for 12 players, and will cover you up to 18 if needed.

No chip shufflers and I wouldn’t encourage them too become chip shufflers

Why on earth not? As a compulsive shuffler, I must say I take offense.

Don’t know if this math checks out but you should be able to get a 600 piece cards mold tourney set from the classifieds at around budget

How do those chips compare to something like the Milano china clays? They seem to be about the same price, but I cannot find any real info online about the Tropicana's.
I've never handled Milanos, so I don't know the difference. But I have a few extras of the Tropicanas on hand I could send you to check out.

Significantly better IMHO. I tried a bunch of China Clays when I was starting and didn't really like any of them. I've got a set of Tropicanas and they regularly see playing time amongst a rotation of some Paulson sets.
