A trade is still preferable (See: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/leaded-cali-set-for-leaded-traditional-color-set.134958/), but seeing as a trade is unlikely, I'm simultaneously listing this set for sale.
I’m not hosting much these days, but I’m able to get my sets in play 2-4 times a month at games hosted by non-chipper friends. I LOVE my leaded Cali sets (hence why I have 10 of them
), but my non-chipper friends that host games I play in won’t play with Cali-color sets or black $20 chips because they’re
fucking stupid
, so I’m listing this set at a little below cost and if it sells I will use the funds to replace it with a leaded set that uses more traditional colors (essentially a roundabout trade). I'm genuinely torn as to whether I hope this set sells or not, but I feel like I need to at least "try" and sell a Cali cash set (or two) in view my current association with home game hosts that are idiots with asinine taste in poker chip sets.
1470 Chip Camino Casino Set Breakdown:
$.25 x 200 - There are no original Camino Casino Fracs that I'm aware of; base chip is a monogram hot stamp ($150/rack) that was shape-milled by Gear ($275/rack for shape-milling)
$1 x 200 - Base chip is Adolfo $1 ($350/rack) and inlays have been replaced by Gear ($275/rack for inlay replacement); I used a replacement $1 instead of original $1s because all of the original Camino Casino $1s I’ve seen are too worn/have barrel heights that are too short to play with the original Camino $20s (the barrel height difference between original $20s and original $1s is a full chip, which IMO is too much of a height difference)
$5 x 560 - I sorted the $5s into 500 $5s that are flea-bite free, and IMO are the nicest Camino $5s you’ll find out in the wild, I haven’t seen any Camino $5 in quantity that are better than these 500 $5 chips, and 60 $5s that each include a flea bite or other imperfection; my cost average for Camino $5s is about $600/rack
$20 x 300 - Originals in nice condition; my cost average is about $1350/rack
$100 x 120 - There are no original Camino Casino $100s that I'm aware of; base chip is OCC $10 ($850/rack) and inlays have been replaced by Gear ($300/rack for inlay replacement since inlays were paper inlays); my first batch of Camino Casino chips came with 30 OCC $10s that were inlay removed and relabeled as Camino $100s, and I found more OCC $10s that were partially inlay removed (paper portion of the original inlay was still there) and I had Gear finish the inlay removal.
$500 x 70 - There are no original Camino Casino $500s that I'm aware of; base chip is Colon 5000 ($500/rack) and inlays have been replaced by Gear ($55/barrel for inlay replacement)
$1000 x 20 - There are no original Camino Casino $1Ks that I'm aware of; base chip is Garden City $500 ($200/barrel) and inlays have been replaced by Gear ($55/barrel for inlay replacement)
Camino Casino Set Price (1570 Chips): $11K Shipped
This sale is CONUS only; I will not ship International. However, as some members can attest to, I offer flexible, choose-your-own-adventure payment plans to those that qualify.
I will consider splits if all chips are accounted for (@JeepologyOffroad expressed interest in 2 barrels of $100s). I will base any split on what makes the most sense in terms of accounting for all of the chips in the set, and split pricing would be based on my above-described costs (do your own mathing, this isn't a full-service sales ad).
