Wondering if I should oil them?

I agree with Colquhoun they look great as is. These will look great just after some play.

I found my China clays did look amazing after oiling, but for only a day or two and they were back to their original state. I would only oil the edges, or before relabeling and labeling after the oil has had time to settle.

I definitely wouldn’t oil those. The only chips I’ve ever oiled are CPCs and Paulsons, and only the edges, not the faces.
Your chips look fine as-is.
Excuse my ignorance kinda new but do you think water would be beneficial or is that pointless?

I’ve washed, scrubbed, and oiled my China clays and don’t regret it. They do not take oil as well as my Paulson’s at all, but they do look better and with less residue from when you first open them. It is a fairly long process though so there is that.

This has been said many times before… China Clay chips are an absolute gateway drug. If I were starting all over again, I would have just skipped the weed (China Clay) and jumped straight to heroine (Paulson/CPC)!

No regrets though. Good luck if you oil them. They’ll be just fine.

Oiled mine and was very happy with the results. It’s a pain but I felt the difference was worth it. That being said, I’ve since added on to this set and didn’t oil those ‍
