So my nephews are old enough to get pocket money - which means I can take it away from them by playing poker with them. Yay!

Of course I had to get them a starter set, and I would not let anyone buy a stupid suit set. A little bit better is fine, so I went with Clay Composite at a very good price (so they can be tossed around and it wouldn't be a huge loss if they're damaged).

Joker Casino, a set of 500
120x25
145x100
85x500
110x1000
25x5000
10x25000
I also ordered a playing mat and added a dealer button and some of my 100% plastic cards (Copag from Pokerstars in a nice tin box) to get them all they need for small SNGs or a cashgame with a little bit of scrambling (or not playing for real money anyway).

Nicely packed up when they arrived:
241157

Let's clean them up a bit:
241156

And rack them up:
241158

These are based from Dunes Commemorative injection-molded series except for the 25s.

Quite likely. They have a classic look, and feel quite good. I got them for like 150$, so they're definitely well-priced. At least to get the kids on the right path :D

I bought the same chips for my goddaughter (12) who wanted her own Poker set.

I bought her those Casino Jokers:
50/50/25/55/20 (25/100/500/1000/5000) for a 6-max 200-ct set.

They are quite slicky and we just found one with a not-centered label which I reapplied correctly.
I also gave her a small case (200), a dealer, 2 decks of plastic cards and a cut card.
I also gave her a small neoprene felt (60cm x 40cm).
So she’s all set and she appreciate to have this small, complete and transportable Poker set. I also prepared her a typical blind schedule and she just run a timer to know when to move level.
She mostly play with me or her brother. She starts in Poker (we play 5CD) but she really enjoys.

From my end I think they are nice chips as starter set. They are like Dunes Commem’ but with a worse quality control.

Hehe, good to hear. I've had about five with very offcenter labels I had to reapply, and anotehr five to ten just slightly offcenter which shouldn't affect stacking so I let them be for now. I like the way they look and I can't wait to play my first game with them.

Oh, darn. I have 6-player beginner tourney Paulson sets on Classifieds right now. I could have offered you those. I suppose shipping and time would have been a big factor to Europe, though.

Well, time is a factor, but as a starter set this is okay. Also I would have kept the Paulsons to myself anyway
