My wife and I had the opportunity to visit Puerto Rico on our first anniversary (feels like a long time ago ). We stayed at the Intercontinental San Juan while we were there. We played in the hotel casino a bit and I kept this $1 as a souvenir:

Fast forward ten years and I see that Jim at The ChipVault has Intercontinental chips for sale! I got in touch about a small set and he hooked me up with the following chips. He also included Bud Jones racks!

The chips are very nice. The $5s show the most wear, as expected. I think the $25s and $1000s are brand new (maybe they were from a secondary rack, I'm not sure). I love the color of the hundos. The $500 and $1000 are oversized and while the $500 is a little dull the $1000 certainly makes up for it. Having played at this casino while it was still in business makes it that much cooler. I'm excited that my little $1 souvenir now has siblings (and a playable set to boot). Thanks again, Jim!

@toad94 very cool! I had no idea about the personal connection. Thank you for patronage and sharing the pictures and story.

This is one of my favorite casino designs from all the casino racks that I've purchased. Very classy, clean and simple. Love the foil 'I'.

Enjoy!

Thanks
Jim

Very nice. I love the special meaning these carry for ya. If I played tourneys at all, I would go after a set of Casablancas for the very same reason.

That blue and black combo is killer on that hundo. So beautiful.

I was thinking about how that would make an awesome frac chip for the cash set ..... I really like it (y)
If not for the oversize-ness of it, I'd agree. But if the now defunct casino ever re-ordered these I'd suggest a slightly darker lavender. :)

Whoah! Nice--that's what I'm talking about. Is that 39mm or 43mm?

EDIT: Checked your site and found 'em. 43mm. Very sweet. (And tempting...)

Dang it. Had to get my first Bud Jones (non-CIC) set. These are too cool looking. I hate the chip prOn section of the forum. It is SO expensive!

(beautiful set, man!)
