I have 5 stacks of 2 racks in my Apache 4800 easily and can stack them 3 high and get the lid closed with some force, to compress the foam in the lid. The layer of foam in the lid is pretty thick, so if you were willing to carve out some of the lid foam, it should be a pretty easy fit, with adequate padding remaining.

How is this compare to the Pelican 1520? Can I get it to hold 1500 chips? thanks
Highly suggest Apache/MembersMark (sam's club) cases. I don't think anyone will argue they offer the same amount of protection but Apache/MM offers plenty of protection for chips. Just note 1500 chips will be heavy so you may want to defer to a Pelican case with wheels like the 1510 or 1560.

Im checking at the local Harbor Freights near me now to see if they carry the 4800. Got 20% coupon with it. Worst-case scenario I get it shipped. Thanks guys.

update. I just call the store. they got a dozen in stock so Im going to pick it up with my coupon. Thanks guys. Should be $48 bucks and tax. Might get two lol.

Happy to help! Wouldn't be doing my job if I did ask again though if you've held at least a 1,000 chip case before to get an idea of how heavy 1500 chips is. If you have disregard, if not I'd just try putting 1,000 in a duffle bag then think about another 50% more weight. Maybe your YUGE and can carry it fine but better to find out now than later.

I carry around 1000 chips in my bird cage and still think its pretty light. I want to keep both my cash/tourney set together. Lets see if I can get 1500 in this apache case. thanks for your concern.

He said he might get two cases. I'm guessing he just forgot to mention he's grabbing a hand truck too, for toting 3000 chips.
