Hosting First Home Tournament (2 Viewers)

I’d like to start a thread that compile’s all of your best advice for people looking to host a tournament. We come from a group that is going on six months strong with cash games and want to host the occasional low cost tournament to attract new members.

But this thread is for all your best advice. Post your tournament rules, flyers, talk about your preferred blind structure and why. How would you run your first tournament and build from there. Let’s hear your tips for getting people to show up, all the good stuff.

talk about your preferred blind structure and why

I would start with how many players you expect, how long you want it to last (inc breaks etc) and what chip denominations you have and work back from that. Also do you want it fast, slow or middling and do you want the option of rebuys and/or addon etc.

As for personal preferences I'm mainly cash now but do like the odd deep-stack tournie every now and then. I structure those so everyone should get at least 3 hours play.
