Funny story. The knowledge I've gained here has already paid off. I knew my sister had some old poker chips because I taught my nephew how to play poker last fall. Like anyone who didn't know better I just figured they were random chips. After joining this forum and learning about the various chips I remembered the chips and texted my sister to send me some pictures of them. I was thinking they would be super diamonds or something but nope:

Some excellent condition THCs! With an extra rack of grays still somewhere else in the house, apparently. Turns out my brother-in-law had picked them up at a garage sale years ago for the low, low price of $15 :wow: I'll have to weigh them next time I visit to see if they are leaded (my guess is probably). Anyway, if I had never joined this forum they probably would have just sat around for another 20 years until they ended up at another garage sale. Wait... That actually might be a sad story for you guys since potentially future one of you will now miss out.

Seriously though, thanks for all the advice here and it was cool to see my newfound knowledge already put to good use

Very cool. I hope you offered him $30 for them before you told him they were legit and what they were really worth right?
Lol. I unfortunately told my sister when I requested the pictures that they might be worth a buck or two a chip. Otherwise asking for pics of the chips might have seemed a little weird :cautious:

Wow, lots of colour variation on those blue barrels - probably can separate into at least 3 distinct colours. I'm guessing the others are Purple, Arc Yellow, Fuchsia.

I have 94 of those "fan of cards" hot stamp on a colour that I can't identify. What I have are definitely not Grey, sort of a purplish grey that doesn't even come close to Petunia or Orchid.

Pretty good condition. Probably in the $1 to $1.25 range. These are most likely *not* leaded.

I think all (or nearly all) starburst solids are leaded. Those grey hot-stamps may be C&J chips, which would not be leaded.
