So we typically have between 8-15 people and play with unlimited rebuys for the first 3 levels (20 min per) but with my new custom set set I'm trying to figure out what the best starting stack and blind structure to use with my current set of chips. I have some flexibility in that they do not have a denomination on the label:

420 black chips
260 orange chips
105 blue chips
55 purple chips

Here is my best swing.

So I am feeling a base T100 set as follows.
100 black, 500 purple, 1000 orange, 5000 blue.

18 T20000 stacks of 15/3/7/2
(270 black, 54 purple, 126 orange, 36 blue)

Reserve 27 T1000 to color up black, and 6 T5000 to color up purple
(27 orange, 6 blue)

So that leaves 107 orange and 63 blue for rebuys. You can get 21 stacks of 0/0/5/3 out of this remainder.

For a 100bb start do blinds of
100-200, 100-300, 200-400 for the first 3 levels. (If you want a 200bb start, do 100-100 as the first level)

Then
300-600, 400-800, 600-1200, 800-1600 color up T100.

The upsides is this pretty efficiently uses all chips in the set except for black, but you just have way too many of those to be useful no matter how you slice the set.

You also benefit from from having two standard colors at the start and orange being reasonably close to yellow for the next color choice.

I hope you design your custom set better :P.

This sounds great. You also have the option to start with 100-100 on the blinds for 200BB if you want to play a little deeper.
