I am on the horns of a dilemma. I have procured a rather large number of chips as a first step up for myself and my playing partners. As follows:
$1 chips x 200
$5 chips x 400
$25 chips x 400
$100 chips x 350.
Ok. Random thoughts. Purchase higher denoms and create a tourney set. They are readily available. Purchase fracs for a cash home set. They are much tougher to find. I was thinking about 150-200 fracs, about 100 $1., and the smaller amounts of $500, and $1000 chips.
Or create both, and sell off what is likely excess of middle values.
Any suggestions at all on how to proceed?
Any input would be welcomed.

You shouldn't create a tourney set out of your cash chips.

Adding additional chips and selling off a second set is a waste of money and adds additional risks.

You should pick up 100 fracs for lower-stakes games.

and/or

Just a thought: Depending on what stakes you plan to play, if your largest cash chip is (say) the $25, you could use $100+ as a tournament set.

I might be miss understanding but why so many 25s and 100s? I have a barrel of 100s for my cash games and a rack of 25s. 400 1s 300 5s. 1/1 blinds

They were in the lot I purchased at a great price. And the reason I want to to get fracs for a low stakes game, and some bigger denoms for a higher stakes tourney set. Just looking for suggestions on how to go about it.

Fracs very hard to come by. Keeping my eyes open.
