New to these forums -- here's my first post. I've been scouring eBay and other places for Casino-like poker chips for the past month, and around 100+ hours later here I am. It's truly amazing how deep the rabbit-hole goes (and how valuable good poker chips have become). I've discovered that I'm likely looking for Paulson's for their "chalky" feel (I ordered some samples from ClassicPokerChips -- they were nice, but just not for me.)

Anyways, happy to be here -- I'll likely be looking through the old "show me your best purchased sets" threads and envying the lot of you. Cheers.

Welcome! Are you mostly a singles collector or do you build full sets? What have you been able to accumulate so far?

Welcome to PCF! What part of Texas? There are a lot of us here in the state.

Thanks! Nothing collected just yet -- mostly looking for a nice set of Paulson chips for hosting a ~low limit cash game with friends (either .25/.50 or .5/1) -- currently we just play with Dice chips. I've come close to pulling the trigger on a couple different sets in "For Sale", but haven't quite jumped in yet -- soon though!

Thanks! Austin-area here. Do y'all mainly host home games up there? Or are there public clubs in the Houston area as well? (Lodge is the big one in Austin -- I don't go often -- rake is pretty high)

We have a lot of poker rooms in the Houston area, but I mainly play home games and occasionally host myself.

Have you seen this post? It hasn't been bumped in a while, but I believe they are still available. Indiana Grand are one the the best bang for the buck sets you can find with great looking chips in very good condition, for a good price. Most are near mint as the casino was only open for a short time.

Didn’t think it would happen this fast, but I guess that’s how it goes! Got my first authentic Paulson casino-used cash set. They’re amazing and exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks to @Newenne for answering tons of questions and ultimately providing the great (new chipper) deal. Really appreciate you!

Shoutout to @TheHun who brought me to PCF and was generous both with his time and sample chips (to a total stranger). Thank you!

I tell myself I’m satisfied for now (and will take a break from scouring the forums for hours before sleep), but we’ll see how that goes…

Cheers all.

Great set! You're a genius. You saved yourself so much time from searching, getting samples, trying to assemble a set from racks and barrels, looking for cheaper alternatives (sluggos, Tina, china clays) and beating yourself up every time something new hits the classifieds. I know this because I did all this! You probably added 5 years on to your life just from stress avoidance!

Now if you're a real genius you will change your password, not write it down, log off and never come back!!! :ROFLMAO:

Added on a couple racks of HSI 1a’s and we finally got these babies felted.

Cheers @Newenne
