Hello Everyone, I started playing poker over 20 years ago. Mostly playing MTTs and do regular trips to Las Vegas and poker events in Europe. Despite all that I don't own any poker chips (except a few that I forget to cash out or take with me as a souvenir).

Last year I was playing a cash game in one of the off-strip casinos in Las Vegas and there was the biggest pot of the night on the table. As the hand completed and the dealer wanted to push the chips towards the winner, a guy next to me pointed to a "random" chip in this big pile and asked the dealer if he can swap it with one of his and take it of the table. Soon a discussion started and he explained that he's a collector and told us more about this hobby. (Of course the chip wasn't random it really stood out, it looked brand new, compared to the others). I've never thought about this as a hobby before.

My goal is to buy a nice set (probably from somebody in Europe to start) that has some value and see where it goes from there.

I can't contribute much at this point, so I'll mostly be reading and learning about this topic and waiting for the right set for me.

Have a nice day :)

Thanks, yes I was eying this set, but I'm not 100% sure yet. I have some questions that I'll ask on that thread.

I'm based in Lucerne, what about you?

Welcome. Where are you in Switzerland ?
Thanks, I'm in Lucerne. Are you close to the border?

My daughter is in Crans-Montana and we go there often.
But we play the Basel festivals when they run
