Tourney Formalizing My Payout Structure (2 Viewers)

I have written down and formalized my payout structure, and would like any input on it.

BACKGROUND: Small stakes tournament with a $30 main-prize-pool buy-in. T25 with T10K starting stacks. One optional $20 rebuy available until the end of the first break. One optional T5K Add-On for $10 available at first break.

GOAL: Pay the maximum number of people that does not exceed 1/3 (33.33%) of the players, the one exception being a tournament of less than 6 players (if we even held one that low) which gets 1 payout. 33% is a generous payout amount I know, but I do not plan to count "rebuys" as a new players, unlike some hosts do.

We are currently maxing out players at 17.

PLACES PAID:

1-5 PLAYERS: 1 Payout
6-8 PLAYERS: 2 Payouts
9-11 PLAYERS: 3 Payouts
12-14 PLAYERS: 4 Payouts
15-17 PLAYERS: 5 Payouts

PERCENTAGES PAID:

2 payouts: 60/40
3 payouts: 55/30/15
4 payouts: 40/30/20/10
5 payouts: 40/30/15/10/5

If my calculations are correct, 1st place on average gets close to 4X their buy-in amount back before counting re-entries and bounties, and last place breaks even/makes $10 or so.

Oh, cool. I remember doing this for my game 10 years ago. Setup a lookup table that auto calculated payouts. I also set it at paying out no more than 1/3 of players but I think the % splits differ from yours. I typically do 70/30 on two paid and 50/30/20 for three paid. Likely we will get a range of practices amongst us all with varied opinions of what is right.
