Tourney Favorite Blind Structures (1 Viewer)

Hey everyone,

Just curious as to everyone’s favorite blind structures for tournaments. I usually start tournaments with a 10,000 starting stacks. I usually run the blinds 15-20 mins. Is everyone a fan of the BB Ante or is that only for larger tournaments?

I learned my lesson on this one. I'll just leave it at this and not explain further:

I'm on team ante.
I'm on team BB Ante.

Though for small home tournaments, it doesn't really matter that much if you do or don't do antes.

I use BBA. I do 20 min levels at minimum. I have a T100 based (or T500 based if a certain person comes to the game) tournament set. I do starting stacks of 200-300bb. My tournaments last 4-5.5 hours depending on turnout.

Blind levels shorter than 15-20 minutes typically feel very rushed. A combination of stack size, blinds aggression, and blind level times can accommodate your desired overall event length.

Antes are fine, but really unneccessary in most home game tournaments (and are a pita without a dedicated dealer). Table antes (BB or button) introduce more problems than they solve.

I do 10k or 15k. With the 15k I just like the chip breakdown/amount of chips we can Get on the table: 12/12/5/11. I do 15 min. or 20 min. levels depending on how long I want it to last. BBA here. I have considered doing away with antes but I just can't do it. But before I went back to every player posting his own ante I would do away with them altogether.

I usually run 6-max freezout tournament.

I used T20,000 on starting blinds 50-100 with 25’ levels. I don’t use ante at all for blind games.
