Family friendly home cash game setup for beginners (1 Viewer)

I agree with others that say keep it simple. If people are brand new I send them a YouTube before and we do a couple of practice hands at the beginning. I ask them to trust me to handle things that come up through the night (like an exposed card during dealing etc.).

Here's an example of the rules I communicate on the invite:

Hold'em ONLY until they know the basics.
Do you play Limit HE? Or just play NL with the rules for max bet/number of raises?

Also, How does the .25-$5 thing work? Does that include raises?

Post COVID we've mainly played .25-$5 spread limit and .50/$1 or $1/$2 fixed limit. The # of bets per street rule applies to both types the same (ours is 3 bets to keep it extra friendly but 4 is what I used to see in casinos).

So you're telling me that I'm not the only idiot who joined here looking for one or two $300 sets of chips and ended up spending 5 figures??? :rolleyes:
You are not riding that bus alone my friend.

Now everyone,
all together…
The wheels on the bus go round and round…
:wtf:o_O:wtf::bigbucks::wtf:

Shit. I’ve already done the first half of that and then some. I’ve only been here a few months. My wife has already told me it’s too late. The damage to my spending habits has been done.
