Check out my new cash set! Back in the spring, I played with an all 43mm cash set and I fell for it. I decided I wanted one. Seeing how expensive it would be to do with with Paulsons (probably have to buy NAGB chips and relabel) I quickly shifted to a CPC set. I’m sad to have to shift away from CPC customs. But when the opportunity suddenly arose to buys Dunes Baccarat $20s (my avatar forever, but I haven’t owned any in years) I couldn’t resist. And it gave me an excuse to use Excalibur $1s - a housemold that I’ve loved since I first touched it, but never thought I’d use.
So this is definitely a non standard set. Two different size chips, three denoms from one casino with two from two others (once I find some fracs) - it kinda breaks all the rules. But I think I’ve stopped caring about the rules. They’re leaded, textured inlay, mostly huge Paulsons, and that’s what I love. They’re stunning to shuffle and to splash and to rake. This is pretty exciting.

Any frac suggestions? I’d love to do it with the arc union plazas, but that would be a long term project. The Gold Coasts check all the boxes - house mold, leaded, textured inlay, but they’re gray, which is kind of boring. Still, those might be the best bet.

I also love 43mm, but I haven't yet gone the way of a hybrid cash set with 39mm .... yet. But my god, that set is HOT! Love it!

As for your frac, wouldn't they grey be way too close to the Excalibur $1? Leaded, house mold fracs though ... that's gonna be hard to find. Would you be open to hot stamps for the frac like the Plaza chip?

Yeah, hot stamp is great and since we’re breaking rules here, I’m open to anything. But I’d prefer a house mold and I’d prefer one from Vegas, if I had my choices. That’s how I ended up with the Gold Coast as an option.
I’ll probably just play the set using my light blue THC hot stamp crystal palace fracs, until I find a rack of the right house mold.

Yeah, I can't think of one off the top of my head that's a house mold. THC's got a few (Gold Coast, Kings Casino, Fitzgeralds, etc). Would you be open to making your own via murder/labels?

I’m not sure if you’re kidding or not. Relabels aren’t for me, especially in mixed sets.

I was being serious as I typed it and then realized who it was (even though you said all rules are off  :ROFLMAO: ) ... I have a real hard time telling which fracs are leaded. Casino Queen maybe? Man, I don't even know how easy it is to get house mold fracs these days. I heard that most poker tables don't have them and you have to play weird games to find em.

Look, the set is amazing and I have to admit that my heart has always skipped a beat when I see oversized Bacc chips. Curious if Dunes actually ever had a frac in play ...

Outstanding! I like the gray fracs personally. Maybe a little clashy clashy with the 1s but I like them.

Yeah, I just spent a while on chipguide. I expanded my search outside of Vegas and there are just a shockingly low number of house mold quarters out there. I know chipguide isn't perfect, so hopefully I'm missing things.

Found some nickels/ante chips. Doubt I’ll ever use them, but what the heck!

And at least now the case is full. Yes, it’s hideous because it won’t handle rows of 43mms side by side. Who cares, let’s goooooooo!

eff me, how you score all them plaza quarters, nice
Still working on it actually. There’s about a barrel of arc yellow starbursts in there and a barrel of THC plaza quarters. But it’s playable, as I on it.

Alright, fine, I’m no better than the rest of you! Yes I smugly said I could happily live with 160 $1 chips, since I only have an 8-seat table. Yes I was silently mocking the rest of you who NEED full racks due to various undiagnosed mental disorders.
But did I stop buying Excaliburs?
Um no, I did not.

Got the whole set out for a picture. It’s almost done. I just need about 15 more plaza house mold quarters to replace the place-holder starbursts.
If I were ever to move up stakes to $1/1 or $1/2, I’d like at least one more rack of $5s - ideally a total of 6, but not at all necessary. Really all I’d need to be playable at higher stakes is another barrel or two of hundreds; maybe a handful of $500s. You’d think I’d want more $20s, but from a practical playable perspective it just isn’t necessary. At fifteen bucks apiece per $20 chip, it just makes more sense to load up on $100s.
