Decisions, decisions. (First cash + tourney sets) (1 Viewer)

Can I take this one? ;)

Personally, I like the story about Key West being an homage to some famous old school casinos. Muted colours, standard spot pattern stay true to the theme, and they're pressed on the same mold as the chips from cool casinos. For example:

And of course my big h mold bias (The left are mine):

I'd much prefer to tell the Key West story over a random casino I've never heard of.

Still...get samples!!
I also did take to this aspect of them.

Let me ask you, if your group would only micro stakes (unfortunate).

Would you prefer the accurate Key west denoms? We'll be "translating" regardless being in the UK. So either 5c = 5p, 25c = 25p, $1 = £1 or $5 = 5p, $25 = 25p $100 = £1

Having accurate denoms is satisfying but I think I prefer the colours of the higher denoms.

This is how my Casino Nacional set is used, and it's easy for players to mentally replace a dollar sign with a cents.

Also, a lot of us here play with people that don't appreciate quality chips like we do here, so buy them for yourself.

colors, mold, label
Yes!

Get the colors YOU want.

I mean unless it's 5p retro blue, 25p dark green, 1£ black, and 5£ blurple.

There are limits!!

I've caught the bug. I HAVE to work out how I can get my hands on a temporarily satisfactory set of chips for my home cash and tournament games.

The end game will be custom CPC sets, but I'm willing to be patient with this. For now I'm willing to spend money to get good sets that I can either keep and be happy with (wouldn't mind multiple sets) or sell when I finally get my CPC set (months, years?)

I prefer cash games but my group prefers tournaments so we may end up playing more tournaments than cash, despite this I'd probably be happy with having higher quality cash set over tourney set for the time being (again, until both are CPC.)

But I'm currently using slugs and they need to go, so I feel my choices and preferences are this;

  • Buy a cash set of Key west chips NOW and then work out what tournament set I would like over the next couple months (cards mold potentially)
  • Buy a set of CC chips (majestic?) for cash and then probably be able to get a cards mold tourney set sooner.
  • Buy a set of CC chips that covers both cash and tourney
What would you do?
Id go molds for a tourney set and the CPC cash set. If you want to wait on the CPC set you can always get 2 molds going. Just got 2 sets made myself, 1 cash and 1 tourney. They are definitely a solid chip for temporary use. I also have a Paulson set for cash and have use many others cheap chips in the past. I considered CC for a cash game but there was too many mixed reviews...I was also considering the majestics. CPC is next for me. If you can afford it you might as well go big. Also, I wouldnt mix sets...you dont want chips from a tourney to end up in a cash game. $$$ mistake
