Old thread shut down so reposting….I'm looking for mostly sharp $5 (up to a rack) and maybe 10x $25. I am not needing MINT, but in VGC. Would certainly accept $1's as well if they are close to uncirculated. Difficult to harvest in bulk, but if anyone is there and playing and wouldn't mind pulling sharp chips off the table as they play, I would appreciate it. AM NOT looking for singles at singles pricing. Too long an endeavor and too expensive.

Free bump, funny harvesting story...

In search of a rack of $1s about a year ago...

The cosmo usually has $25 minimums across the floor which is pretty annoying. So I had to beg for the chips instead of get them while playing. I started on a Friday night, went up to just about every table game threw down two red chips and asked for $1's "for souvenirs ". A lot of dealers said no. A few said only 5. A few gave 10. And a couple freaked out and called the floor. This went on over an hour. I managed to get about 65. I figured ill try the following morning, new shift. New faces. I started at the cage hoping to get lucky with a full stack. I walk up. Throw a twenty down and say "can I have some dollar chips for souvenirs?"

The cashier, older lady, looks at me like she saw a ghost and replied "you would not believe this, but I just read a memo saying that we cannot sell chips for souvenirs "

"OH, really? That's crazy. So I can't get any chips? "

"No. I'm sorry. The memo just came out this morning. For table games and the cage. That is so strange "

So I'm pretty sure I was the cause of a casino wide memo being put out at the cosmo. Lol. Even funnier is the cashier didn't suspect i was the culprit. I don't go back there that often.

Good luck with the hunt!

I had a similar story at the Yaamava here in California, but most of the vegas casinos have been awesome with this. A pit boss actually went out of his way in the poker room to ask a few dealers for mint $2 chips. I guess it just depends on the mood and individual, kind of ridiculous to reject such requests when it’s potentially free advertising for them and profit in some cases.
