My break down is the following

240 - 25
240 - 100
160 - 500
200 - 1,000
60 - 5,000

The 5 table tourney would only be once or twice a year. The break down doesn't need to be perfect just enough chips to cover the tourney.

( I don't want to go over 600 more chips)

Thanks for any help with this.

If no re-buys, you should be able to do it with:

400 - 25
400 - 100
200 - 500
400 - 1,000
100 - 5,000

Starting stacks of 8/8/4/7 for 10K. And even racks... :sneaky:
I was close to this. The only difference is I had 350 1,000 and 150 5,000. I like yours better!

Both work fine... The reason I like the 400 T1K better (other than full racks :sneaky:) is that it gives you an easier color-up with some extra T1Ks... If you do 350 T1Ks, you only have the T5Ks for color ups... Doable, but when your coloring up the T25s, it might be too much to go with a T5K... And the 400 T1Ks give you more flexibility if you wanna do 12/12/5/11 for up to 33 players T15K, two full barrels starting stacks... :sneaky:

Paulo is DOBA if you are talking 50 players. You will need to be a little creative in your color-ups. If you are talking 40 players, there are a couple more options....

Or, you could go:

400 - 25
400 - 100
200 - 500
400 - 1,000
160 - 5,000
40 - 25,000

So you could do 50 players starting at 20K (8/8/4/7/2)... :sneaky: And 1,600 chips > 1,500... :D And new chip!!

I would need to creat another die to do the 25,000 so that won't work with the budget I will have to work with.

I could go with starting stacks of

8,8,4,2,1 for the occasional 5 table tourney

True... I personally don't think it plays as fun as the other starting stacks options... Too few T1K, workhorse, for my personal taste... Does it work on a pinch, yeah, it does... Ideal? Probably not...

Agreed, that and I'm not really against getting more chips if needed/wanted.

Unless chips are unavailable, I personally despise having 1/2 of your starting stack in 1 chip (the 5k). it makes change a PITA once you get to around the 100/200 or 150/300 level.

I always preferred big stacks of 12/12/3/7, as the 500 doesn't play in as much early in the game. Of course, with 50 players, that requires 600 of the smaller denominations.

8/8/4/7 or 8/8/6/6 work much better and allow greater flexibility at the earlier levels. Of course, I could be the odd man out.

As soon as I posted this I knew it wouldn't be the route I would go. I think loading up on 1,000 chips will be the way to go.
