People do not get notifications when you update a post with new stuff. Yes, I missed on some stuff in the past because of that :/ a fresh thread would IMO be a better way to do it.

There aren't notifications when you update the original post, only notifications when there's a new post/comment.

But I should also note that when content from the original post is remove and updated with other content it's hard for anyone who isn't following in detail to determine what's new or removed. I think if you keep adding stuff, note with a comment the new stuff added, and keep a historic view of the old stuff that's sold and just strike through the text or mark them sold. Eventually though with enough items the post gets a bit much to manage/view/understand so new posts might be better to grab more attention.
