Chip Recommendations… $250 budget (2 Viewers)

Hey everyone! New to pcf. I’m looking to buy a nice cash set for my home games. Currently use cheap ace casino chips. Looking to spend $200-$250 for chips alone.

I’d prefer fracs of .25¢ 50¢ $1 $5 as I currently host 25¢/50¢ with $50 buy ins. We max out at around 15 buy ins.

Any recommendations of chips and or sites to buy would be great.

If you skip the 50c chips in that setup, you can make your budget go further, and streamline your game.
What are the quantities of each denom you’re considering?

Keep saving until you can at a minimum double your budget. It will save you in the long run.

.25/.50 with $50 buyins means you need something like 160x.25, 200x$1, and 140x$5, with any additional chips in fives-or-larger denominations. There are other, similar breakdowns that would be fine. I agree with DD that you are better off saving and getting a better set to start.

The 50c chip is almost certainly unnecessary.

200 x .25
200 x $1
100 x $5

Is a bigger bank than what you just described above and is far more versatile. If your game ever plays more than a $750 bank at the table, you just add more $5s as you go, or if budget is an issue add $25s as it will be cheaper to add more bank.

Personally I run a .25/.5 game $60max and have the above breakdown (plus another rack of $5s and two barrels of $20s for those bigger nights.). It works fantastic.

I too highly recommend holding out a bit more budget, you can find excellent casino used Paulson starter sets for $1-1.50/chip and boy are they nicer than anything else available sub $1/chip.

Keep an eye out for horseshoe sets in the classifieds!

I mean preflop callers have to put in .50. Easier and cheaper with one chip.
The quarters are really only for when the small blind folds.

Good point. Difficult to find paulson 50c's cheap though (if you want denominated.).

I’ve got an orange rack and a blue rack of .50 I’d sell. Not cheap but not tiger prices either. Pretty standard.
