Anyone use ammo cans or specialized charging boxes like a Bat Box?

Thanks for asking this because until now I had no knowledge of Lipo-Lithium batteries catching fire. I guess you can count that as a "not using one" answer from me.

Yes, I do - for sure! I typically charge and store Lipo’s in the garage and ALWAYS balance/storage charge after use. I have some loose bricks and make a little “oven” with them for charging containment.

I have Bat-safes and like them a lot. It’s a pain charging in them though. I use them for storage. They’re pricey, but worth it.

I also have amo cans. Make sure you either remove the rubber gasket on the lid, or drill holes in it (otherwise you’ll have a bomb if a lipo lights up in - lol).

Yeah, if they go, they go in catastrophic style - lol. (No joke if they go, it’s bad)
If the lipo won’t hold a storage charge or balance correctly, just get rid of them. Store them outside, in a grill, etc, until you can properly dispose of it.

They are generally stable unless they are over charged , charged to fast with too many amps, or fall under min voltage thresholds. (All of those are bad - lol)

Thanks for the info. I know never to charge them unattended. I was searching for a proper fire extinguisher for lithium battery fires since Class A, B, and C fire extinguishers don't really do much and doesn't prevent reignition. I came across this one by AVD.

Then I found this US company that makes a similar one. For $60, I picked one up.

I’ll have to check those out!

What kind of LiPo batteries should we be concerned about and what are they used for?
I was referring to Lipo’s used in RC cars, drones, etc.
