Was in Vegas last month and we wandered through most of the big casinos along the mid-strip.

Noticed that most of the new $1 chips in most of the casinos are hotstamps.

$1 is the new frac?

I had a good chat recently with a knowledgeable chipper who predicted/has already seen hotstamps taking over all low denomination new chips.

Reason being ever increasing costs for inlaid clay. Many more steps to inlay vs hotstamp, and every step adds cost, quality concerns, etc...

I'll be interested to see if the new CPC factory incorporates their hotstamping capabilities. They used to have a hotstamped Atlantic Club stock set, and we've all seen the hotstamped color sample sets.
