I'm hosting a rebuy tourney on Sunday. It'll probably end up 15-20 players, so 2 tables.

Anyone have a blind structure for a re buy tourney.
10K starting stack
rebuys for first 2 hours
to last 5ish hours.

Appreciate any input.
Thanks

Post your lowest denom - very important, as it sets the first possible blinds and may affect later choices so as to allow coloring up earlier.

(How many breaks you want is also useful.)

Smallest denomination is 25

In the past I've gone
rebuys for the first 2 hours.

30 min blinds:

25-50
50-100

100-200
200-400

End rebuys:

350-700
500-1000

1000-2000
2000-4000

4000-8000
8000-16000
cont to double.

What I like about this:

Rebuying players are coming in with there stack being no worse then 25 X the big blind. encourages more rebuys.
I like longer blinds.
Finishes in 4-5 hours

What I don't like:
The jarring jump from rd 6 to 7.

Why not go shorter blinds and have smaller increases?

25/50
50/100
75/150
100/200
150/300
200/400 - end rebuys 2 hours (20 minute blinds)
300/600
400/800
500/1000
800/1600
1000/2000
1500/3000
2000/4000
3000/6000
4000/8000

Just off the top of my head :) Calling @BGinGA ! lol

That was one of my thoughts also. Probably the best idea, I think.

Thanks

I think your jumps are way too big... at the 2 hour mark most players will be down to just 10 big blinds, and shoving left and right. By hour 3, most people will have busted out. Sure, it will be a fast tournament, but there won't be any actual poker taking place. My advice is to shorten the levels, and add more of them...

I've posted this structure many times in the past and some folks seems to dig it. I also run it once a month at my home tourney with success. I usually have 2 (but sometimes 3) tables. With my group the typical duration is approximately 6.5 hrs (ending around Level 17), with 14-16 players and 4-6 rebuys. If you have nits at the final table, it can run a little longer. Yes, it's a bit of a slower structure, and certainly not for everyone, but my crew likes it.

Enjoy...
