Exactly.....the action of bidding $1 here and $2 there builds momentum and excitement. Starting high is a buzzkill

i thought it may be fun for some.....plus talking with tommy and bg with some of the comments, i was curious to see how many replies or bids it would generate.....the reserve is very very very reasonable....my opinion

That's what I figured by starting the bidding at $1, but just seemed like a bit of a contradiction by then requesting to "get real on your bids" and saying to "check prices.. this isn't a fire sale." I have no problem with it either way.

^^^ this is a good point ^^^. By starting the Rounders TRK near top dollar AND not allowing comments in the "auction" thread (bids only)....those threads have all but disappeared.

actually new they would cost close to $500 for 300 chips and used crap on eBay is almost $1 a chip if you look at completed sold auctions, and do the math on the blanks i just sold that went in a flash....an auction may have put them higher who knows.....but just bid what ever you feel they are worth to you

and i thank everyone who has bid so far ....its fun hopefully for all, and there is still more fun to come!!!!(y) :thumbsup:

Don't understand the need for a 'secret' reserve price. Just state it in the OP and let things happen naturally.

Or risk angering bidders by wasting their time with an unrealistically-high reserve price that isn't revealed until days after the auction starts.....

awww man cmon BG jus tryin to add some excitement around here....then it isnt an auction per se' .....its only an auction when someone bids....its not secret, its unknown until it is revealed by a bid being placed at or above it.......i thought i gave enough hints in my post prior to yours above if someone did the math on all 3 they would get a range and may be able to guess it correctly, i dont know why someone would be angry....but i understand your point......anyone could place their best bid and if the reserve isnt what you want to pay ok you gave it a shot, stop bidding.....nobody has to have their arm twisted to pay the price.

i dunno just tryin this out, i think my reserve is very very fair....give me a few minutes to think about it, i sort of agree somewhat..

I think this auction was ran well. I'm doing mine different where as I'm starting at my minimum acceptance price. I just don't feel like messing around with it. I'm in a hurry, lol.

I've enjoyed participating and observing this thread.

nah, not sounding like an ass.. I think anyone truly bidding on them knows they aren't going for under $150, $200, etc... bottom line is it is your auction and you can run it how you want. At the very least it's interesting to see the feedback... and of course the bids

someone asked if i knew the exact color names for these chips, i have checked cpc and looked at a few threads but i really cannot tell...i am guessing cpc colors may not match 100% from ASM from years back??? i might be wrong....but here is the best pic i could take that in my opinion these colors are exact in person.......any help would be appreciated, thanks

Current CPC colors may not match EXACTLY due to batch variance, but will be at least very, very close.
