I looked at CasinoWare but damn they want a heafty montly fee for a future two table setup, any ideas or is google sheets going to win this

What problems/pains are you trying to solve?

I gather that TM does what any TM does, but I'm not sure why you need a cash game manager.

Track buy-in's cash outs, number of games attended, number of rebuys, overall profits and ideally what games each player likes.

If you're tracking all that stuff about me in your game, I'm not playing.....
If we are playing microstakes and keeping season scores then this is fun…

For tournament software most of us here use Tournament Director.

As far as a cash game tracker, I built a point of sale terminal.
Unicenta is free and can track everything you are looking to track, you just have to set it up to do that. It wasn't the easiest thing to get right, but once I did it became very simple to use it. You should note that a lot of players will not want to be tracked, but I have a few that do.

This discussion about not wanting to be tracked is very new to me. Every club I have played at here in Iceland has a document for every night regarding buy in rebuys and cash outs. I just assumed that Casinos did the same in some extent.

I know tournament director it is rough but works. I will look at Unicenta ☺️

Even micro stake buy-ins add up. Losers will probably either

1. don’t care and keep regarding it as spending/fun money or
2. find it embarrassing (who wants to consistently lose at anything)/realize they are just dumping money and quit.

I really don’t think they will find this idea fun. Bad players don’t think of poker in terms of long run. They gamble, have fun and sometimes win. Why ruin that for them?

I’ve never played anywhere that documented buy ins or cashing outs. Granted, I play low stakes. I believe casinos will document tournament wins over $5,000 for tax purposes. And I’m pretty sure they’re required to document any cash transactions over a certain amount ($10,000) for legal reasons (money laundering?)
And there are plenty of home game tournament leagues where things are tracked for league point purposes. But as far as cash games go, it is normal that nothing be tracked. And yeah, a lot of players would take offense to it.

I think based on this discussion I will shy away from tracking cash games, I will always keep track of buyins during the night to make sure the bank is right but will just delete that afterwords. Thanks for the honest feedback guys!

I personally do a small excel sheet each time on my phone to track rebuy and do the check out and I post it to my players whatsApp group at the end of each session.
The best crusher of each session receive a token (same for tournament)
At the end of the year I do the ranking and give a medal to the best cash game crusher of the year and the best player in tournament
My players seem to like this ;)

How does this ensure the bank is right? Give me money, get chips. Give me chips, get money. Knowing Steve is in for 5 buy ins doesn't matter.

For tournaments I get tracking the total number of buy ins, buy it doesn't really matter at all for cash.

If you're the host and want to keep track of records for your own use, go for it. But I would be careful who you share that information with.
