Hi everyone, so I run a monthly tournament that has between 14-20 people attend.
I bought a set of 1000 second hand chips recently with the following
200 x T5
200 x T25
200 x T50 (urgh)
200 x T100
100 x T500
100 x T1000

Obviously the T50's are annoying, but considering I have so many of them I feel like I need to use them...

I've been contemplating making a T25 base set and doing 8k starting stacks. I've also toyed with the idea of doing 10k stacks and making the T5 into T5000 with a little "imagination"

Some suggestions would be great. Also a blind structure that would finish between 5-6 hours.

Thanks!

Or should I buy non matching T5000 chips? I'm leaning towards that.

Here's the chip set I have.

The grandfinal event at the end of the season will have stacks ranging from $5,000 - $60,000.

So I will need to future proof for that event also, hence why I'm leaning towards the $5,000 chips

You have plenty of chips without the 50's.

Starting stack:
2000
T5 x10
T25 x10
T100 x7
T500 x2

Levels
5-10
10-20 (do a double level possibly)
15-30
20-40
30-60
40-80
50-100
75-150
100-200
150-300
200-400
300-600
400-800
600-1200
800-1600
1k-2k

I'm not usually a fan of the 40-80 to 50-100 jump, but it works well for chip up purposes. This is a 5-6 hour structure.

Re-label the T50 chips as $5000 and run a T25-base blind structure. Can even re-label some of the T5 chips as T25k (or vice-versus). This would play much better into your bigger stack plans for the Final.
Oh man. I never thought of that! That's a great idea. Otherwise they're useless chips. Where do you suggest buying labels from?

Relabel is the obvious choice however I would be hesitant to do so since these chips are in the 15c to 25c/chip price range and the label cost will be similar to the chip cost (10c per label and you need 2 per chip).

I would see if you can find a seller of these chips and just buy the extras that you need. All you really need are an additional 100x T1000 and 200x T5000

Yeah that's an idea, I've emailed them but I'm thinking there's got to be a cheap way to label the chips. They don't have to be exactly the same as the ones I have.

If it fits well with your buy-in amount, the $5 could be used as face value bounty chips.

Otherwise, regardless if you buy extra $5000 or relabel existing chips, I'm a fan of bounty/seating combo chips that say BOUNTY in one side and the table and seat number on the other. The players draw a chip to get their seat and keep the chip as there bounty chip. I'd relabel a unused denom for this purpose if I were you. If you have rebuys, make a bunch of pure bounty chips as well (BOUNTY on both sides) of the same color.

Rebuy chips are also cool. Show-em chips... Rabbit hunt chips... You've got lots to choose from if you have idle denoms! :-)
