So, I have a set that I’ve relabeled to be non-denom, but after playing 7 handed, I’ve realized I’d like to get ~300 chips for the lowest value to free up chips overall and reduce making change. I’ve plowed through the info on the site as best I can and gotten a few samples, and I think my options, in no particular order, (within my rough price range) boil down to:

1) the white non-denom Crown Casino Royale chips from The Poker Store (haven’t gotten samples yet, but seems most like the existing set)

2) plain white A-mold chips from CPC (haven’t gotten samples yet)

3) taking a swing at the grey Bud Jones Roulette chips The Chip Room still has kicking around

4) eBay has white casino chips from a Horseshoe Southern Indiana, this seems (I think) like the highest quality option but also highest cost (~$600 for 300 chips if I did my math right)

I’ve gotten a sample of the slowplay ones off amazon and I didn’t mind the feel/weight at first but they wear out QUICK. I got a sample of the Tina hybrids, love how they look but I think 8g is a little lighter than my preference and they’re a little slicker than I’d want. I got a sample of ceramics, and while I understand the appeal on some level, they’re just Not My Thing. I just wanted to ask for some advice before I end up with all of the samples, and to see if there’s something in my price range that I’m missing that might be up my alley.

Also, because this place is a gateway drug, probably going to end up getting a shuffle stack of something good, but that’s only tangentially related.

If the ceramic are too slick for you then you probably don't want any plastic, whether CC or Bud Jones or anything else.

Unfortunately that leaves only clay for you. If you still want non-denoms in 3-4 colours for cash, there are still options out there for cheap.

When you can send PMs, feel free to get in touch. I'm looking to thin out my project chips that I don't have time for.

Ceramics’ texture isn’t bad, I just don’t like the noise they make, and for the cost premium, it seems silly to pay more for something I like less (despite the other advantages).

I think my PMs are open, if you’ve got ~300 white chips that you need to thin out of your herd, I might be able to help. (This at least shows one thing I’ve learned from the forum: there are many people for whom 300 chips would merely be thinning the herd)

Are you using the white as dollars? If so go to your local poker room. Harvest and clean.

Cost is just time and time value of money as you should be able time get your principal out with ease.

I plan on harvesting caesars 5s and somebody's Paulson 1's during 2025 wsop as a stop gap solution until something perfect comes along.

Didn’t even think of harvesting. I’ll have to look into what the local casinos have, I’ve never played live aside from home games. But it definitely makes sense cost wise
