Correct.Rule 2 states bids at ×55 do not extend does not say not valid
All the x:55 bids and the bid at closing time x:00 are not valid.
x:56 to x:59 bids would have extended the auction. I do not see any at those times.
Correct.Rule 2 states bids at ×55 do not extend does not say not valid
I know the 5 min rule can be confusing and not an ideal solution for having auctions in a forum setting. But we make the best of it. Based on the how the rules are currently written, the x:55 bids are not valid and do not extend the auction. #2But x55 is still within open auction time so should be a valid bid but not extend past auction close at least that's how I am reading it. I would think the 66 and 67 bids are valid as coming in before 12 but the 12 is not valid due to auction not being extended and at closing time
- If the close time is 3:00pm, any bid at 2:56pm up to and including 2:59pm is valid and extends the auction for another 5 minutes from the last bid.
- If the close time is 3:00pm, a bid at 2:55pm does not extend the auction.
- If the close time is 3:00pm, and a bid is placed at 2:56pm, the auction now closes at 3:01pm.
- Bids at the close time are not valid bids.
Ya guess no 2 stating does not extend and not are not valid and does not extend made me think they would be valid still just not extend past initial close timeI know the 5 min rule can be confusing and not an ideal solution for having auctions in a forum setting. But we make the best of it. Based on the how the rules are currently written, the x:55 bids are not valid and do not extend the auction. #2
The x:00 bid is at the close time and also not a valid bid. #4
We won't have this issue in the near future.
I think we should just do a 6min rule anything within 5mins is good but if it's 6mins or further it's no goodI know the 5 min rule can be confusing and not an ideal solution for having auctions in a forum setting. Actually, I think you may be right. I'm just not thinking clearly today. The x:55 bids are valid but do not extend.Ya guess no 2 stating does not extend and not are not valid and does not extend made me think they would be valid still just not extend past initial close time
Ya he was ruling it as 65 originally but it seemed wrong to me.So the @mannix bid for $67 @ 11:55 was the winning bid still?
?So we needed a bid at 10:56 to 10:59 to extend 5 more minutes from the last bid for a winner
I would say the last x:55 bid is the winner. The x:55 bids just did not extend the close time as per #2.So the @mannix bid for $67 @ 11:55 was the winning bid still?
So the @mannix bid for $67 @ 11:55 was the winning bid still?
Yes that is correct
