Has anyone played with the Abbiati Park Place or The Crown Plaza chips a good bit? I don’t know much about them but I may buy some in a future group buy. I have chips from BrPro and was wondering if the Abbiati chips wear down less, the same, or more than ceramic chips. Also, if you have any comparisons between BrPro ceramic and Abbiati chips like which texture you prefer, which stacks better, etc. Any information will be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance!

I bought a Crown Plaza cash set back when the first group buy happened. I'm usually not a fan of plastic chips but these were pretty amazing. My poker crew were also big fans of the chips. I think if they had $25 instead of $20 chips and if the white $100 was an oversize I would have kept the set.

The edges are slightly rounded so they shuffle well and they aren't as slippery as some other high end plastic chips I've sampled.

I’m also usually not a plastics fan, but I had a barrel of brand new Abbiati which I really liked the feel of. They are very different from ceramic chips.

Later I had a limit set of casino used Abbiatis and they were a nightmare. Super slippery, poor stackers with exploding barrels. Don’t know how much wear it takes for them to get to that point, hopefully not even possible in a home game setting.

Higher-end plastics usually wear better than ceramics. The worst part about the most-worn ceramics is that their full-faced graphics can disappear, and that's probably their best feature. I am not sure how prevalent this is in home use though. Overall, I am very impressed by the small Park Place Abbiati set I have.

Plastics like Abbiati are extremely durable. The Park Place and Crown Plaza have a light metal slug, which puts them at 11.5g, slightly heavier than your standard 39mm ceramic.

Abbiati chips are my favorite plastics, by far. Had a set, traded it, most sets that aren’t clays don’t last long with me. But, I liked them a lot.

Were the new Abbiati the same material as the casino used Abbiati’s?

Best plastic chips out there from feel/weight and sound. They’re definitely a fun chip to splash around and shuffle. I sold my cash set a few years back (regret it) and now selling my tourney set but only because I don’t play tourneys or else I’d keep them!! Reach out if you’re interested

Are the cash set and tournament set chips the exact same material? I like the look of the tournament chips more but prefer the cash denominations.
