Does anyone know why they bevel the edges on China clays? Is it so they come out of the molds easier? They would look so much nicer without it.

I might want these. Still early in my discovery period. Should get my samples early next week. I’m sure these will be gone by then, but I’m going to be patient and wait. Glws

Welcome to the site and this great forum of chippers! What a great start you have...

Samples... Patience...then waiting...

You will be on the fast track to chipping glory starting off this way...

After you sample some China Clays...do give CPC , Paulsons, and a few others a try too. Just so you know exactly what they feel like compared to one another.

Happy Hunting...

More Milanos will come. Rest easy friend!

milanos are my favorite china clay, i actually think they're the best option at that price point. GLWS.

I agree. I don't "love" the muted colors. Everything else about them, including the price point works for me if I was going to do the CC thing .

I owned a Milano tournament set, a Dunes cash set and an ASM cash set with 312 edge spots when I hosted my own home game twice a week in 2013 and 2014. I liked the Milano's, but not as much as I liked the Dune CC's and my set of ASM's.

The players in my tourney group raved about the Milano's. I am not sure why they liked them so much. Maybe they were use to playing with dice chips or liked the various colors of edge spots or the ease in which they could read the denominations. I found it funny that my Dune's and ASM's received no love.

Maybe I am alone, but the beveled edges seem to stand out more in the pictures than they do in person. At least that feature didn't draw any comments from the players in my group.

I play with a group so stuck in the mud...they still use Ace Casino chips. It's horrible.

I have tried to have conversations about chips and maybe to improve the game we could get cooler chips... EVERY player stares blankly. Some have really never heard of Paulsons. The ones that have heard...have no clue about ASM/CPC etc. They just say..."what's wrong with these ones?".

Its a tough sell to those who don't know or can't or won't appreciate fine poker chips.
