For sale, very nice Majestic Star matched-set of 600 chips. $580 + shipping.
Note: pics have been updated, see replies below. I had not noticed the white chips were mixed black- and red-denom when I first posted this. I've since resorted these (twice!) and the set is a now complete red-denom matched set. Yes, I'm an idiot...
Details: I purchased a large number of Majestic Star chips with the intention of sorting and making a matched set for sale (to recoup some of my costs) and keep the rest for our regular game. I didn't need the best of the chips, so I've sorted over 1600 chips to produce this set. I've taken the best 600 matched chips and offered them here. Breakdown is:
200 $1 white
200 $5 red
175 $25 green
20 $100 black
5 $500 purple
All chips have been ultrasonically cleaned and oiled. I've left a bit of oil on the chips to soak in; you'll want to give these one last soft rag cleaning on receipt. These chips are well-used, but clean. They shuffle like butter and sound magnificent. The $5 barrels measure at about 60-61mm; the $25 measures 63-64mm. The white $1 measure at 63, while the much less used $100 measure at 64.2mm. The $500 chips are still sharp edged.
Finally, these chips have been sorted and this lot is all the consistent, red-lettered denominations Majestic Star design. These chips are heavy, with the well-used $5 and $25 still weighing over 10g/ea. I believe these are leaded, consistent with others than have handled thse chips (and consistent with the 1996 casino opening date).
$580 for the set net to me plus shipping. These should fit a MFRB for USPS in the US. Preference to USA-based buyers at this point. No splits, unless this doesn't sell for a week or two. The whole point of this sale is to provide a nice, matched startup set for a reasonable cost.
