Putting together a cash set to cover between .25/.25 with a $20 buyin, .25./50 with $40 buy in, .50/$1 with a $80 buyin or, $1/$2 with a $160 buyin

so far I have

100 x .25
300 x $1
200 x $5
140 X $25
40 x $100
20 x $500

wondering if I need more $25, I could add 40 x .50 chips for when .50/1 is played but that would mean having 2 fracs on the table

single table 10 players

You have all of those covered to the point of overkill, IMO.

Your bank for 1/2 is $8800, not including quarters or $500. That’s 55 buyins of $160! You might get more use out of another barrel or two of $5s instead of 20x $500 for these stakes.

tl;dr - yep, you’re good for any game at these stakes!

I would probably have 300 x 5, 80 x 25, 20 x 100, 0 x 500
^+1 for this.

If you wanted to trim to 700 chips (yes, I know this means fewer chips), you could also:
$0.25 (non-denom would work here too, as a .25 for .25/,25 .25/.50 or .50 chip in .50/1)100
$1200
$5280
$25100
$10020

Either way, you're well covered already, but you could tinker if you prefer.

More than enough $25s in that set (over 20 1/2 buy-ins at $160), especially given the $100s and $500s.

If anything, grab another rack of $5s and call it a day.

yes 80 BB buy in top up at any time

I'll think about adding another rack of 5's then

Its a cash game, dont think in terms of BB buy-ins. Your players will buy in with all sorts of stacks depends on how they feel, 50BB, 100, 200.... rebuying as needed. Plan for an average first buy-in of 100bb each seat and then another full buy-in of the next level chip. So if you are playing a 25/50 game you would need quarters and $1s for play and $5s for rebuys and make change from big-stacks as needed. I cant see needing $100s or $500s for 1/2 and lower games

Never ever ever ever ever get 50c fracs if you have 25c fracs. One or the other, and a rack of either is PLENTY.

As stated above, ditch a rack of $1s and get more $5s.

I'm not sure if the $500s will ever be used except in the deepest of games, and at that point, they're just a store of value, not really usable in play. If that is the case, frankly, I think another barrel of hundos is more worthwhile and usable, and if you find yourself still in need of bank, let Benjamin Franklins play.

But really, you shouldn't take my advice...ask this guy:

Or ignore him and go with someone with peerless credentials, excellent taste in chips and whisky, straight teeth and a perfectly symmetrical tuckus:

Yeah, agree with everyone, you are good on 25s unless you think you will be spreading 5-5 or higher.

Also agree with everyone 1-2 extra racks of fives would be ideal for 1-2.

Otherwise you are in really good shape.

160 in fives is 32 chips so do to that buy in solely on fives for the first ten buy ins you would want at least 320 fives. Personally I think 30-50 workhorse chips per player is ideal in NL, YMMV, but that's why I think everyone is suggesting more fives.

You wouldn't have to have two fracs on the table if you bought the 0.50 chips. 40 would be plenty for single table 0.50-1 and I would just keep the quarters off the table if you are using halves, and keep the halves off if you are using quarters.
