I asked Chat GPT to create a new game of poker. Is this really something new?

@mike32 is better at creating terrible games than AI is.

Hero is never folding. The only question is, what is more likely to get V1 to commit his stack, flatting or re-shoving? V1 has hero and V2 covered. V1 checked the river. If he is calling V1's bet, he's calling hero's re-shove; he's not folding because we're making it $5k more. And the...

Host can't pay out everyone, what to do?

Not the point of the OP, but establishing an escrow in advance, playing that night, and getting paid (or refunded the unused escrow) in a few days is totally reasonable at these stakes.

Host can't pay out everyone, what to do?

I believe this too, at least at some point during the night. He figured he was freerolling and would get into high variance spots. If he hit, he could crawl out of the hole he dug. If not, no worries, he wasn't gonna pay up anyway. The more important question is, did the hose know. Seems...

Host can't pay out everyone, what to do?

I could agree with this a lot more *if* it was stated up front that shortages would be shared. I don't think sharing shortages up front should be assumed. It sets a terrible precedent. Why would anyone pay if they knew the group was just going to absorb their losses?

Host can't pay out everyone, what to do?

To those suggesting not to let anyone play on credit, I think you're missing the point. Unless this is held at a secured location, you don't want a half dozen people showing up with $10-$20k cash each. I'm assuming that in the past, players show up, play, and settle up at the end of the night...

Maybe better for the host, maybe better for the small winners, but worse for the big winners.

Agreed. But if you acknowledge that V2 doesn't have a hand unless V2 is trapping ...then why would you conclude that if he calls, his hand is worse than hero's hand?
