Thanks! Can you specify how much Oxiclean should go in the water? And do I just dip the magic eraser in the liquid and then wipe down the chip (sparing the hot stamp) or am I supposed to soak them in the water? Should I plan to oil after as well? (If this was previously covered I can search...

    Best Oil Method for Paulsons?

I used cotton cloth with a very little oil on it. It should feel medium wet. Than you rub your chips one by one like you spank the monkey. Let the chip dry. If still looks chalky you may repeat process. In my experience its better to apply too little oil than too much.

    Ultrasonic Chip Cleaning

I bought the J & J gel, hated the smell (does the smell last on the chips?) so I went back to mineral oil I got from Walgreens. I don’t use inlays so seepage ain’t no thang to me

    Oiling Experiment

But why try to replicate all that nastiness? Mineral oil alone will treat the chip cleanly.

Found Man down - single Aztar MO Pri $25

Bummer. I never owned any, but I always liked the Paulson Pharaohs. Yeah, I think you’re right about probable shipping damage, as none of the cracks run along the interface between spots and main chip color. Make absolutely sure you thoroughly clean the chips to remove any oil before you...

Murder, (S)he Wrote: The Unofficial Murder Pr0n Thread

Thanks for your advice. I had also done so previously with the Bourbon Street relabel set: clean > oil > let dry 4-5 days > labels.

    Heading back to North Carolina

I have some and have used it before on hot stamps that were sensitive to Oxy, and that was the backup plan here. I experimented on the T25s first because I have quite a few extras and if something was going to get damaged those were going to be my least painful option. The one downside I found...

Take care of your things and they'll take care of you!

i should also clarify for lazy chippers yes, there is still a "wipe down of every chip individually" phase. By letting evap. do the rest i more so meant for any water in the mixture.

    CPC General discussion thread

It's worth the time investment to me initially. Only edge oiling results in having to oil again in 1 to 2 years time. Do the compression oiling chip by chip and 4 years out, the chips still pop as well as the day I oiled them. Oiling my Jockey molds especially that I just got in, the difference...

Upgrading my Poker Chip Collection in Germany

You just missed an awesome deal on a mint RHC cash set of Horseshoe Southern Indiana chips, at $2/chip. I think you'll find lots of chippers in and around Germany that could easily sell you some samples. By all means also get CPC samples, but IMO they're inferior in every way to Paulson's...

For Sale Inexpensive Cali 312 set

I picked these up a while back and decided to part with them. I have a total of 800 Golden Horseshoe $1 chips, and 600 Golden Horseshoe $5 chips. These saw use, as the $1’s fit 21 to a Paulson rack, and the $5’s fit 20 to a Paulson rack. They need a good bath and oil. However, they represent...

Take care of your things and they'll take care of you!

I'm with @JP1984 on this one... I've cleaned and oiled many chips, including Majestics when I first started. I bulk washed in dawn/warm water, rinsed thoroughly in bulk. Spread them out on a towel to dry, placed another towel on top to pat dry. Then used a microfiber rag with a small dab of oil...

    Chip shuffling with china clay

I agree that the break in period is important, especially with China clays. But there are also some little things you can do to improve the feel. Some folks like oiling with a bit of mineral oil (there’s a bunch of threads on that specially for China clays, they don’t absorb oil as much as...

Club Cal-Neva... Do More of these Exist?

Thanks. Nothing fancy. Just put a little orange Goo Gone on a paper towel and scrubbed the glue off. Then I just rinsed the chip off. I was worried about it too, so I just did one chip to see what would happen. It didn't seem to hurt the chips. Once dry, I oiled them up with a little mineral oil.

    Clay Vs Ceramic Cleaning

My Milanos and other China clays have always reacted well to the “oil and water” treatment. I’ve never used Dawn on them. The purpose of oiling has always been to brighten the colors and remove factory dust at the same time. It works well according to the directions Apache gives on their website...

Tips for Cleaning and Maintaining Paulson Poker Chips

Hi everyone, I recently acquired a set of Paulson chips, and I want to make sure I’m taking the best possible care of them. I know these chips are highly regarded for their quality and feel, so I’m looking for advice on proper maintenance to keep them in great condition for years to come. Here...
