Hey all, just wanted to say hi. I’ve been out of the scene for a while, but have recently taken an interest in starting a home game back up, which led me to researching what chips were currently en vogue, which of course led me here. Here’s my tourney set, some Le Paulson Noirs I was fortunate to pick up back in the day. You’ll see me around while I start to think about a cash set!

Cheers!

Hello and welcome! Congratulations on starting the game back up!

Welcome, @msuroo.

FYI, I don't know how to say this delicately, but I don't want people pointing at you and snickering,so I'll just say it: Noirs are not in vogue...so I'll take them off your hands. Shall we say... $100?

Let me think on that, ha.

Welcome from germany. are those chips the forerunner of the NPS?

Welcome from germany. are those chips the forerunner of the NPS?

They have the same colors/spots, but the noirs were a Sidepot exclusive and done on a custom mold, while the NPS were on the Paulson chips mold, and I believe were more widely available (or were they an Apache exclusive?). I dunno, my history on this stuff is a little fuzzy - not sure which came first in either case.

Welp, the road to a cash set begins. Wasn’t planning to start with the frac, but a rack of AS snappers came up and they were too pretty not to pull the trigger on. They’ll make a pretty quarter when I figure the rest out, ha.

Welcome and although @WedgeRock said that your chips weren't in "vogue" he was only partially right. They have simply fallen out of favor for our newer members. All the cool newer member want to go big with custom chips, which is certainly understandable, but they are expensive. So, I am here to help you pay for your new custom set and to that end, I will give you $150 for your rickity old set (and I could probably be talked into chipping in some for shipping as well). Now, I don't want you thinking that I would take all of your rickty old chips, this is just a one time deal -- unless you have another set in which case I would be willing to at least look at them, you know, just because you're a newer member.

Anyway, welcome!!
