Plain donut holes (munchkins) are the nut low, right? Please share your opinion.

The wholesale store near me has a great bakery. They sell an assortment of donut holes; 3 flavors - powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar and plain. Who the hell eats a plain donut hole? I’ve always thought plain donuts were pretty stupid, but at least you can dunk those in your coffee. But you can’t do anything with a plain donut hole except choke on it. Tell me I’m wrong.

I suppose if I'm hungry enough, I'll eat a lot of things. But under normal conditions, I'll pass.
 
Cinnamon for the win, then powdered, then cake (plain). Glazed stays in the box.

Glazed are too sweet, like an intravenous shot of sugar - lol. They make me feel like crap after I eat them.

The local donut shops around me are always sold out of the plain cake donuts by the time I get there :mad:.

Ha. That sounds like a fun project my mom would come up with. But no, they come in an assortment pack along with the good flavors.
 
i enjoy plain donuts - always have. same for black licorice/jellybeans, which if i'm guessing, will fall in the same category.

one time i was high in college and i wanted cereal. i lived in a sty, so we didn't have any clean bowls. so i just sat on the couch with the box of cereal and a half gallon of milk, would toss in a small handful, then add a swig of milk. every bite was the perfect first bite of a bowl, i felt like a genius.

30 years later, i still do this sometimes.
 
An excellent donut shop can make a very good plain donut/donut hole.
 
I have a related donut question.

I lived for 7 years in Connecticut. Compared to other northeastern states, there were an outrageous number of donut shops.

In the relatively small town where I went to high school in the 1980s, there were like four locally-owned donut shops. Then there were all the chain donut stores—Dunkin, Twin Donut, Bess Eaton Donuts, more.

Plus all the convenience stores and delis and diners serving donuts.

You couldn’t find a bagel or buttered hard roll to save your life—though these were more widely available than donuts in most of neighboring New York.

I have wondered for years—who the hell was eating all the Connecticut donuts? Across nearly six decades, I can count on one hand the times I’ve actually gone to a donut shop for an actual donut, as opposed to just coffee.

I also have never had friends who were inveterate, regular consumers of donut products.

SO WHO ARE THESE INVISIBLE NUTMEG STATE DONUT-EATERS AND DOES THIS HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH RUMORS OF EXTRATERRESTRIAL LIFE???!???!!
