Hey all,

I have an option of getting some decks shipped to a UK address that I can then get over to the US later this year.

In the US, I’m trying out different brands, Faded Spade (3.0 & FSX), Broken Arrow, KEM, Copag.

From Europe so far I have a few Modiano Platinum and Trefl setups.

Any other recommendation for cards that are available to be purchased online just now and delivered to the UK? What brand & website do you recommend?

I prefer Jumbo Poker size and would like to try a few other brands before hopefully finding the ‘one’ that I’ll stick with. Maybe.

Zero Poker if you can find them. Belgian Copag stock. There's some interesting Dal Negro cards that I found in a shop in Greece, but haven't located anyone local to pick them up for me yet.

Send me the Greek link.
I have a guy at work who speaks green and has a place there.
Might be able to work something out.

Ok, daft question - how can I tell if it’s ‘Belgian’ Copag stock? Most info I see on some sites is just “100% Plastic playing cards made by Cartamundi”.

Thanks for the advice all. Ended up making 2 buys, mostly Fourniers. Most Copags I found were either similar to US stock or had the 4 corner pips that I’m not a fan of. Found some belgium versions I liked, but only red or blue available, not both for a complete setup.

And eBay Lithuania seller (best for shipping cost, but higher deck price I assume to bake it in):

@SaleFin recommended https://pokershop.de/

This site had the best variety of cards by manufacturers, however the shipping was the highest. For 2 setups/ 4 decks, was €34 to UK or €44 to US.

Just note that the "branded" versions (EPT, etc) tend to have a bolder PIP and a bright red for the hearts/diamonds, while the non-branded ones use a thinner PIP and darker "security" red. The first EPT version (with the blue banner) also have the dark red.

See https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/fournier-2800-2818-question.106078/#post-2201302 for a comparison.
Actually- what is security red out of interest? Whats the purpose/ reason it’s darker? Not sure if it’ll bother me either way.

In Europe, it's interesting to buy :

- Modiano Platinium (Acetate) : my go-to shop don't have any in stock but you can find some here (edit : available here at great price too)
- Modiano PVC - Poker / Jumbo, Poker / Regular, 4-indexes, ...
- Copag Texas Holdem Made in Belgium (they are superior to any other Copags, even the other "made in Belgium" ones - be sure to exactly pick these)
- Fournier Bridge / Poker 2826 or Arabesque ; Poker / Jumbo ; EPT (red or blue)
- Dal Negro Poker / Jumbo ; Grand Slam Bridge / Jumbo (red or blue)
...

So many options !

A lot options!
Just be aware - the proposed Modiano Bridge got back design color issues. At least the blue.

No - some cards turn from blue to black. Not over time.
I contacted the vendor and as it seems all these blue got the same issue.
Got to search a pic…

…no pic found or cards left.
They turned from blue to brown-black.

Fuck Modiano. They lost their contract with Abbiatti and they lost desjgn as a major client in the past few years. I think those bridge cards are the first new plastic offering in the past 10 years.

They're a dying company that will deservedly go belly up soon because of their quality control issues and poor customer service. The desjgn debacle and the issue with these misprint bridge cards are par for the course lately with the guys. Which sucks because their cards look and feel great.

Personally I'd give them a chance if they'd do a custom run (faces and backs) with a MOQ of 500 decks per color as a "prove it" deal to show they can still put out a quality product. But they won't.

Thanks for all the additional store options and including the links - much appreciated! Quite a big price variation across countries.

I think the last version I’ll probably try now will be a setup of the Dal Negro, then have covered most of the options to try out.

My understanding is that the darker colour is easier to see on cameras, but I have no idea if that is true or not. Someone else on the board may be able to provide a more accurate answer.

I personally prefer the lighter red to provide better contrast for players.
