BCC Inplay Tournament Set For Sale
1100 Chips with the following breakdown
$25 250
$100 300
$500 300
$1000 150
$5000 100
Total 1100
Asking: $2500, buyer pays actual costs for shipping and insurance from Minnesota, USA. Paypal FF or fee with gs.
The set will ship as (2) USPS MFLBs, 600 chips in one box, 500 in the second.
I am not interested in breaking up the set unless all chips are accounted for.
I characterize the condition of these chips as Excellent, but please judge for yourself in the photos below. I estimate they have been used in tournaments between 25 and 30 times (see backstory below) with the exception of the 5000 chips. These were almost never used.
This is my first sale on PCF and I realize I only have 22 messages, so I understand that you might be reluctant to purchase these. Prior to receiving payment, I will provide enough personal information so you may verify that I am who I say I am. For starters if you Google “idoru99 poker” the few hits that show up are me. Also, I am listed in the "Acknowledgements" section of Mike Matasow's autobiography "Check Raising the Devil." I am one of the referenced "Poker Boyz."
Backstory: I have co-managed a poker league that has been running since the early 2000s. Our group had only a couple of hosts initially, and this expanded eventually to five. One of later hosts was my friend Terry, an electrical engineer who worked at Medtronic. When Terry decided he wanted to host, he did some searching and decided on a set of BCC Inplays that could handle up to 25-30 players with a T8,000 – T10,000 starting stack. Terry hosted somewhere between 5 and 6 years, five times per year starting in 2007. In 2012 or 2013 Terry developed some serious medical problems, sold his house and moved in with his son. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2015.
Last December I was going through the league records, and I found an envelope containing a small amount of money in it with Terry's name on it. I stopped by his son's house, explained who I was and gave him the envelope. I also asked about Terry's chips. His son went down into his lower level and returned with the birdcage containing the 1100 chips. He offered to give them to me, but I explained that I thought they were valuable, and I offered to sell them for him. He agreed and any money he receives will go into his son's college fund.
I first offered them to my group, but no one could justify the investment. We are all small stakes players.
For me this sale is a labor of love. I cannot think of a better tribute to Terry than helping to fund his grandson's college degree AND passing his chips on to someone who loves them as much as he did.
