Advice: own your mistakes, and the time wasted double checking is less than the cost of the correction.

Place: some little park in cozumel - after snorkeling there was a bar, and I had a monkey fizz watching the sun set.

IN

Advice: don't ever put yourself up on a high horse

Favorite Place: Tuscanny - absolutely beautiful and AMAZING food.

Advice? Work can wait...time spent with the kids cannot.

Favourite place? That's a tough one. Visiting Rome at the start of a cruise for our 20th anniversary is probably at or near the top of the list.

1) What is the best advice you've ever been given (can be poker related, but even better if it's not)?

I read The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz a few years ago and agreement #2 has continued to help me every day.

“Don’t take anything personally”

IN! Congrats Mel and thanks!!

Aruba, because it’s not a far flight and it has the beach, nice climate and casinos to keep me IN trouble at night. Lol

Never waste your time pissing in the wind;
Don’t shit where you eat;
TR said it best “walk softly and carry a big
Stick”

Best place: too many to say there is a specific favorite but Nagano, MT Fuji, Singapore and Brisbane Australia are a couple.

In! And congrats on reaching the 10k post milestone Mel!

I will answer both questions just because...

A piece of advice.. my father in law once told me : « if your father is poor it’s not your fault but if your father in law is poor, it definitely is your fault » :ROFLMAO:

Best place I ever traveled to: South Africa.

I am in and congrats on 10,000 post!

Best advice I was ever given were the words I live by for over 40 years!

Live by two rules in life!
#1. Don's sweat the small stuff.
#2 In the grand scheme of things it is all small stuff.

Edit: I saw that someone posted this same thing so I will ad something I came up with may years ago

Worry is the interest paid on the principle of a problem you have not taken on yet

Best piece of advice "Think before you speak".
Best place I have been to is Ireland, but waiting on a few big trips after Corona so this may change.

I am in!

I've received so much advice because I am always asking for it that I don't even know what to pick LOL. Most common being: Figure out your passion/what you love to do. My problem is that I am interested in way too many things at once to try to pick one without changing my mind after getting bored. WORK IN PROGRESS

Best place I've ever traveled to: Probably the super deep underground freshwater caves in Dominican Republic, best water I've ever swam in in my life, and I am biased because it is my home country and I have not been many places in general hahaha.

Thanks so much for such an awesome giveaway Mel!!!

In. Thanks for putting this on.

1) What is the best advice you've ever been given? Better to ask for forgiveness than for permission.

2) Where is your favorite place that you've ever traveled, and why? Handsdown Tokyo. Most interesting city I have ever visited. Definitely makes you feel like anything is possible. So many adventures to be had.

Congrats on 10K!

Tough to pick a favorite place. Difficult to imagine there's a more compelling natural feature on the planet than Yellowstone. But, as far as man-made stuff, I haven't seen anything more fascinating than Chichen Itza.

1) What is the best advice you've ever been given (can be poker related, but even better if it's not)?

“Acknowledge, move on.”

Actually heard this as part of a stand up comedy routine maybe 30 years ago but it’s the best life advice I’ve ever gotten. Absolutely nothing good comes from harvesting negative thoughts.

2) Where is your favorite place that you've ever traveled, and why? (can be in the US, or not)?

Rome. Ruins plus food. Hard to beat.

Thanks!

Great giveaway, Mel! In please.

Favourite place I’ve ever traveled to is easily Nepal. It’s where I met the woman who would eventually become my wife in 2011 and subsequently lead me to uprooting my entire life in Canada and moving overseas to Switzerland - a life-changing trip (for the better) to say the least. It’s also where we had our Honeymoon several years later.

Best piece of advice is a tough one, as I’ve received a lot over the years, and am grateful for it all. Perhaps the one that sticks with me most is that one should only worry about the things in life over which one has direct control, namely one‘s attitude and one‘s activities (what we do and how we respond to things).

In! And congrats on the 10k posts.

1) What is the best advice you've ever been given (can be poker related, but even better if it's not)?

- "Just walk in like you own the place." My younger brother told me this once while we lived together when I was in college. Simple and general, and has served me well--just not to be overdone :D

2) Where is your favorite place that you've ever traveled, and why? (can be in the US, or not)?

- Super tough to pick one, but I'd have to say simply Styria in Austria. That's where I met my wife and first got introduced to Austria culture. The rolling hills and mountainous landscape is beautiful. Great people: laid back and they just seem to know how to enjoy life. Also great food, and some of the best wineries/white wine around.

In please. Was going to be so funny and original and say you gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold em for the advice but it's been done already! So favourite place instead would be Spain. Either Madrid or the Sanabria region. Both for the heat, Madrid just because I love being there and it makes me happy and Sanabria as it's beautiful and chill and has the most amazing lake.

Congratulations Mel! Amazing...10K posts! You are always helpful, kind, and considerate of others. I've been so fortunate to be on the receiving end of your kindness

Thanks for being a huge part of my journey as well. You've helped me get ALOT of chips.

Definitely "IN". I'm most always left out of TRK talks and threads, but I'm a lover of all things TRK!

1) so far, the best advice I've been given is to not sell nice chips once purchased. I'm still struggling to learn this and apply the advice properly. Some nice chips have escaped my clutches, but I've managed to keep a few. So the advice wasn't a total waste..

2) Kuala Lumpur. I've never been here, and on two previous occasions, my travel plans to take me here have been foiled and I've still never been there. I've seen many pics and great reviews from the trips my parents have taken there, and I want to go. Someday, I'll get there.

EDIT : Since I'm stupid and illiterate, I thought Mel wanted to know of a place I've "never" traveled.

My fave place is India, and I've been there 9 times and I've seen the country extensively, by train, by air, by bus, and even by camelback. I've visited the Taj Mahal on 3 separate occasions, and I've once been in the underground burial where the ruler Shah Jahan is buried, alongside his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It was eerie and we weren't allowed any cameras.

Close second place is Costa Rica. I've been there twice.

2) I traveled to Namibia the magnificent wild life, culture and nature are just something else and not something you see everyday. Seeing a lion or an elephant or rhino in its natural habitat is just beautiful.
