Not going to vote on this one because I don't care too much for either. Grey smooth inlays on the Bellagios are dull and just not a fan of oversized inlays in general on the Vineyards. I wish the Lakeshores were up against either of these.

Both solid contenders but neither is an all-timer for me - the amazing Bellagio $20 versus the worst-chip-in-the-lineup Vineyard $20 is what tips the scales.

Oh man, love the Vineyard $20! If there's a weak spot for me, it's the $2 -- but I make up for that by skipping the $2s, and having about a thousand of the $3s.

I pretty much feel the same. With both, I've always been able to understand why some people are absolutely over the moon for them, but they never really got a hold of me.

Yeah if I ever find myself hosting a $6/$12 limit game somehow, I'll be looking to buy up about 20 racks of Vineyard $3s.

I'll tell you exactly what it is though, that combo of arc yellow right next to moss green REALLY doesn't agree with me.

No fracs for the Bellagios, Vineyards have the denominations to handle any possible cash game. Multiple molds for the Vineyards (SCV on the $0.50s, RHC on the $1 - $25s, and IHC on the $100s and $500s) vs. house mold on the Bellagios. I agree that the dull grey Bellagio inlays really kill the look of the chips. If this was a best fountains contest, I'd go with the Bellagio. Best chips = Vineyards.

The vineyard has a logo that calls out "Poker" as well as a vineyard. If it was revealed to be a J5 design, I wouldn't be even a little shocked. I love the Bellagios, but in this close battle, I have to go with the most memorable/clever design.

Vineyards - easy as I love the wine based theme and love the yellow $5s.

Are we supposed to consider the significance of the chips in this decision? Bellagio are obviously a significant chip for a significant casino. I think inlay wise, the vineyard inlay is by far superior, even though the Bellagio black inlay is more unique. Colours and edge spots favour the Vineyard in my opinion. I'm also a big fan of Cali colours and love yellow 5s. My vote is for the Vineyards.

Are the Vineyard 100s an oversize chip or just a smaller inlay?

The idea of the competition was to simply judge one set against another without regard to cost or availability. I think intangibles like casino reputation can reasonably figure into that.

The Bellagio inlay and mold are among the worst in this contest. I also dislike Giant inlays however the Vineyard design with gradient and color matching easily beat the Meh Bellagio set.

Perhaps. But the chip colors/spots from $20 up rival or exceed nearly every other entry. All a matter of perspective and taste.

I love the Bellagio inlay. If I ever decided to do a "classic casino" themed custom set (not bloody likely,) I would look to do something along the same lines for the inlay.

Bellagio inlay does nothing for me, looks pretty dull. Although I am not a huge fan of Giant inlays, the Vinyards are overall really nice looking chips. Well made all across the line, and the 20$ and hundos are very awesome.

I'm a bit surprised that the Bellagio's made the final 16 and not the very similar Aria chips, which imo has both better inlay and edgespots (except $20 and $25). The Aria mold might be worse though.
Ended up voting Bellagio, but this was one of the two closest matchups for me.

Don't really mind house molds (in fact love Dunes house mold) but the Bellagio is meh. The inlay is clean and classic styled but rather drab/dull color wise.

Vineyards have giant inlay (a minus) but colors pop and design is much better.

Tough matchup.

Vineyards +

As @liftapint pointed out elsewhere, these threads are super interesting to hear others' opinions on chips we might not have specifically discussed otherwise (or maybe it's just that I didn't notice the discussions). I truly had no idea that the Bellagio mold, for instance, was anything but a positive to anyone. If I had the choice between RHC and a house mold in the style of the Bellagio's, I would go for the house mold the vast majority of the time.

I ended up going Bellagio, but it was close. I do really like the Vineyard $1s and $5s, but I like most of the Bellagio denoms. The only "meh" chips for me in the line-up are the $20 (blasphemy, I know) and the $25. And the super high denoms are completely killer.

The only thing I dont like about the Bellagio inlay is that they copied it from the Milanos.

Vineyards for me.

I love the $5, $10 and $20 whereas the only one of the lower denoms to stand out for me on the Bellagios is the $20.
Although the pic of the Bellagios set is impressive (is it Kadrik's?) as all the chips are live (or were at the time)!
