Cash game bad beats (1 Viewer)

Yes, in the span of 3 hours.

I don't even want to mention the 1 over straights, barely 2 pair over 2 pairs, and trips over trips.

Was the worst luck I ever had playing poker. So unlucky, that I felt "played."

Oh, I left out the hand that I folded preflop due to a large preflop raise.

I folded K7. KK7 hits the flop. Then 5K.

4 people had full houses, and were all in. I flopped a full house and caught a quad on the end--if only I had played the hand. Those bad beats had me reluctant to blink wrong.

I would have lost the house on these hands.....

I've posted this one in another thread but about 6 weeks ago an Omaha hand from my $1/1 home game. I start the hand with $900, v1 is tilted and has about $600, v2 has around $200.

Hero has TT67, there's some preflop small raise and calls, flop T35 rainbow. First villain bets $85, I pot to $340, three of us all in. Run it twice. River K on both boards gives it all to v1 with KK.

was at a local casino last Saturday night playing 1/2 NLHE and I picked up pocket fours.

3 way to the flop of 344 :)

Get max value from a guy with 33 and KK. NO idea why KK was in there by the river but by then he was getting like 10-1 on a $500-550 (Canadian) pot haha

He was hoping to get a King and that you guys were bluffing. :D

Utg with QQ

All in on the flop of KJ10 against two others. One has KJ the other A8

Turn A. Yay me.

River Q. GTFO

3 way chop for $3 profit.

River K on both runs? Shoot me.

Well, apparently it happens.

1 floor manager, 1 dealer and 13 provisional players are gone from the casino. Rumor has it that "something sketchy" was going down.

I went back and sure enough, many familiar faces are no more. I played a couple nights and saw some of the most random odds poker I'd seen in awhile. Funny--no consecutive bad beats.

Sadly, though, without the provisional players, the poker room doesn't stay open 24 hrs now due to lack of players around midnight. While the tables may break early, I enjoyed playing true odds poker and made a nice profit and won some promotionals.

I'm glad too, because I really enjoy the environment here. I feel like a quality room was saved. :)

Nasty one Saturday night that I wasn't involved in..

Guy had A3 on a 339 board.. Bet Bet Shove, right?

Villain flipped 99 for the flopped boat ouch!!!

That's not really a bad beat imo. More of a cooler.

Playing 1/2 so I guess this is to be expected?

SB with AA bet $7, 2 callers(pot $23)

Flop: Kc4dQs, c bet $25, both villians call (pot $98)
Turn: 7s, bet $75, v1 raises to $185, v2 folds, I jam, he calls
River: 5h

I flip aces he flips 6s8s:(

I had a night like that before.

AA vs Q9 (suited)
Board: AKJAT
Result: My Quad Aces loses to King High Straight Flush

20 minutes later ...

QJ vs 66
Board: QQJ66
Result: My flopped Boat sunk by four bombs running.

1 hour later ...

KJ vs KQ
Board: KJKJQ
Result: Full win, to half chop, to river death.

5 min later (another guy next table over) ...

44 vs 88
Board: 48428
Result: $5000+ pot from chip leaders almost resulted in fist fight at that table.

10 minutes later (me again) ...

AA vs KK
Board: 26TKA
Result: My trips win briefly... but the Ace that gave me the trips was the 4th spade on the board, giving her K of spades the Flush. Trips in the toilet.

Last hand that night ...

QQ vs AK
Board: QQKKK
Result: ...know when to walk away; know when to run...

If ever there was a night to feel like tables were rigged for propositional players... well, my skepticism was tested.

sorry, but I'm calling bullshit here  :ROFLMAO:

the odds of being struck by lightning 5 times in one night are probably greater than this having occured in a non fixed game

You can call it whatever you want, but it happened. I have plenty of witnesses. I wish it was a BS story, as I was the recipient.

That said, I've had the opposite luck before too. There was a satellite down in the Hard Rock of Hollywood where one night I just couldn't lose a hand toward the end of the final tables. I had such a chip lead, I started trying to lose hands on purpose because I was pretty much guaranteed an entry into the championship and still kept winning. I'd be like... oops. Wish every night was like that one, hah.

Poker can be nasty at times, and other times it can be rewarding. That week, I invested $90, and after the tourneys and 2/5 cash games, I brought in over $20K. Was likely my best week of combination cash/tourney winnings with such a small investment.

As for the bad beats, they can be shocking, and unbelievable, but they can happen. They just never happened like they happened that night in such a short period, to me, back to back to back to... well, you get the idea.

I certainly have no reason or anything to gain by making up a fairy tale--especially a losing one. :)

I would literally wager my life that it didn't happen unless the game was fixed

That's quite a gamble--because it happened.

Here's the thing, if you follow the rest of the thread, you'll see that there was the possibility of mechanics involved. As, it certainly is very uncommon to have such bad beats so frequently. Never happened to me prior, and never since.

Well you already wagered and lost your left nut at a game a couple months ago, so not much left to gamble haha.

I have no problem believing the story, I too would bet a good amount that it was rigged, which it sounds like from the events that followed. There's bad beats, then there's this, such statistically improbable events that something else had to be at play.

A crazy hand at @mike32 a few years ago. The gambler of the group (John) rivered a straight flush (I think it was a gut shot straight flush draw) vs flopped quads. 300'sh pot in a .25/.50 game :) Mike can verify if I'm correct or not.

Yeah that happened to me as well a couple of years ago, quad queens vs gut shot straight flush spiked on the river. Thankfully it was only a 25¢/25¢ game and the first hand of the night.

I was running very good (+500 @ the time) at @MikesDad 's game. I raised in early position with AQss. Got a few callers, and the flop was J97sss. I check, crazy of the group bets and I call. All others folded. Turn was a red brick, and I checked knowing he would bet. He bets the pot, I shove and he snap calls. He turns over 10 6ss and thought I was bluffing. River is the 8s, and I cried while pushing nearly $280 his way.

I went on tilt, and a few hands later, I ran my rivered K high flush (with an Ace on the board ) into @Chippy McChiperson and his rivered straight flush.

Twice in one night I ran my "nut flush" into a straight flush. I was up 500, finished down 200+. :-(

I will PM the name to you, as I'd rather not flame them publicly just in case the poker powers just didn't like me exclusively in their game room. :D
Would you be so kind as to PM me the name as well. I am very curious and would like to avoid known shams! I would also agree with the referral to thew state gaming board. Especially on the high hand mysteriously not paid. That will get them shut down and maybe save some of our unknowing poker pals from suffering the same b.s. you dealt with. Impressively dealt with I might add, hopefully that Karma will come back somewhere with you on the good end of a huge bad beat jackpot. Thanks for sharing the story.
