Anyone have a "prized possession" chip or chips they've gotten from a casino? I've managed to snag some off of eBay lately from places that have closed, but this Showboat $5 chip is one I've been searching for for awhile now, And I finally found a good deal for it on eBay thanks to Spinettis.

Showboat was one of my favorite Atlantic City casinos and where I had my biggest poker pay day. At the time I was going there before it closed, I wasn't a big chip collector, and was only interested in taking a $1 chip from casinos I've been to. Recently, I've begun collecting and knew I needed this chip. Months of looking around eBay paid off last week.

So let's have at it! Share your casino chip or chips that you knew you just had to have...either from the casino itself or thanks to a marketplace.

This chip is Mint, but not mint, by any means, and I was lucky enough to get a good deal on this guy, which I have wanted for a while. Think I will gently clean it, now that I see it up close hahah.

Here are two of my favorites. I am aware of only one of each being known. Perhaps there are a few more...

Been thinking about this since you posted it and, even after the convention and a meetup this year, there's not any one single chip that I would consider my prized possession. All of my singles - even my scarce samples - are relatively easily replaced and/or I have no real emotional attachment to them.

"So what's your favorite single casino chip?"

Hell, that'll change by the week, if not by the day. I do have a couple of specific chip collections, such as my snappers and 2v's (and Larry posted one of my favorite snappers above - that holo-snapper from The Lodge) but another significant portion was compiled just on looks. Roughly half of my singles collection is filled with, "Oooh, that looks neat!" and apparently that makes me strange in the collectors world as most people collect a state, a region, a mold, a manufacturer, etc. Other than my snappers, I'm something of an outlier in that regard.

@Mrs Poker Zombie and I have a casino collection on our wall. It's one chip from our biggest wins in different locations. Below the board will be a book (in production) with a brief story about the win of each chip. The top of the board is our biggest win, and so page one of the book (well, the first page after the introduction) is this:

Therefore the Venetian chip, while easily replaced if lost, is the greatest souvenir... so far...

That's a good idea. Unfortunately mine would look rather silly on the wall as all of mine would look similar to this :)

I'm with you. I collect the chips that appeal to me and my taste the most regardless of value, region, manufacturer, etc... if it looks awesome, I want it.
