First of all, amazing community here. It has a great feel to it. Thank you to those that contribute to that.
I knew I had to register when I read a post on here that said something along the lines of, "most people only know about dice chips and metal slug chips, we were all there at one point".
I just learned about metal slug chips a few weeks ago, and I play with dice chips. So, this was much too close to home.
I have played and hosted home tournaments for many years, and never really stepped up my game. No pun intended.
I ordered samples of some metal slug chips. I am not terribly impressed, but they are slightly nicer than the dice chips we've used for years. They have pretty bad flashing from the mold that gives them a cheap feel. For that alone, I don't think I'd go with them even at .18/ea.
I've lurked and searched on here a bit. Killer advice and info all around.
There are many varying opinions on what to get for a starter tournament set. It seems many are suggesting ceramic/card molds vs china clay like Majestics.
How do the opinions fall today?
