They're abrasive. that word sends a chill down my spine, when we're talking about expensive clays. I know they're not exactly sand paper, but still abrasive is inherently damaging, isn't it? I dunno. I use magic erasers on chips only when needed, after other methods fail.
I bring this up because I read more and more people saying that magic erasers are part of their routine cleaning methods. Am I being paranoid here, or are the rest of you guys needlessly grinding down your clays, when a sponge might do the trick?
