I have come to the realisation that I'm not a fan of mixed RHC and IHC chips (at least in play at the same time). Being a new chipper, I have a collection of Jack and Horseshoe RHC chips and looking for advise/guidance/recommendations on available spotted yellow or orange RHC chips that could replace the T1000 IHCs in a tournament set. From what I can deduce, the yellow and orange RHC options are like hens' teeth?

I'm not looking for mountains of chips, but 80 or so bright/loud options to replace the IHC options. It does look like I might have better/more choices going for a white or a blue T1000? Hopefully, the PCF chip aficionados can provide come up with some inventive, reasonable possibilities ;)

Thanks in advance, Iain

My T100s of choice are Aransas Queen $100s with the same spot pattern. Is it "acceptable" to have multiple denominations with the same spot pattern? It might be easier to find new T100s at this rate?!
Same spot pattern; meh, I wouldn't do it. It was only a suggestion since I know they are a relatively (compared to IHC) chip and were very recently sold here.

I do like these! Are they fairly accessible and reasonably priced?
They came from Naval's Santa Ysabel sale a few months back. They do show up from time to time now, but are not commonly offered in a regular classifieds "sale". If you posted a wanted, you could probably find a seller.

That's my thinking too. It might be easier to pick an alternative $100!

Just curious, what don’t u like about the oversized chip?

From my experience of looking for orange for a bit now, it's hard to come by. I've only managed to get 60 isle $500 and I had to trade for them, nobody wanted to just sell. The ysabel $2 is probably easiest to get, I had a rack but didn't like how it looked for spot progression.

I'm not entirely sure, but I don't hate it and it wouldn't stop me from playing. When stacking chips, it doesn't look or feel uniform (obviously!). Putting the bigger chips on top seems counterintuitive - they should be at the bottom for stability :p. I'm sure an entire set of 43mm would be awesome, but I'm not made of money (BTPs anyone?)!

On the flip side, some of the people I play with love them, but to me, they're "meh". I can take them or leave them. If I can't find a suitable replacement, I'll have to learn to live with them! Storage is a bit of an issue, but relatively easy to accommodate.

I'm glad you've asked though as I've not consciously thought about it until now :)

I do like them, but I'm in agreement that I don't think the spot progression would work for T1000 - simpler needs to be earlier :(

Apache's Matsui clone racks will alleviate your storage issues.

In general, I agree with you that I don't like mixing 39mm and 43mm in a set. However, I could get used to it. My HSI set has 43mm 1k and 5k chips...

I have HSI primary 1k and 5k currently. I might love them more if the 1k were blaze orange rather than pumpkin?!

Yeah, I agree; wish they were blaze and not pumpkin. I actually really like the Secondary 1ks, but alas, those were too hard to get.

Are Lady Luck $500s a 39mm blaze orange option or are they like rocking horse shit too?!

All the casinos use 43 mm 1ks and some use 43 mm 500s. I personally love them. Playing with them at home gives the feel of authentic casino action. I agree that storage can be an issue but the matsui racks solve that problem.

I don't disagree and I don't hate them; maybe I've just not experienced any 1ks in person that have blown me away. Maybe blaze orange is the way forward?

Plenty of options.....
