Hosted a cash game tonight. .05/.10 NLHE

Started out with 6 players and we all bought in for 20. Later on in the night we had 2 more show up.

Used the table I built along with my Royal Yaks. The TV tray drink holders were big hit. Everyone kept their phones on them too so it worked great :).

Here's some pictures:

Here was my stack before I went on my loosing streak and bled it down to 31 before cashing out.

Looks like a good time. What did they think of your Terrible's shrine? ;)

They said I was "obsessed and might have a "Terrible" addiction lol.

Really? "Might"???

Your friends don't seem to be a particularly percecptive lot. Or perhaps they're afraid the hard truth would hurt your feelings. Let's be clear... PCF has a Terrible addiction.

On a separate note, I'm still trying to figure out what a Yak has to do with poker. Furthermore, why would a Mexico-based casino name themselves after an Asian mammal? Also, I can find nothing to indicate that any Yak was ever considered "Royal", though I suppose you never know what some lonely king might have done at some point.

I think I'll just go with the fact that you were seduced by brand new Chipco casino chips, despite your Terrible group addiction!

Don't try to figure out why they called it the Royal Yak. I doubt there's a logical explanation. I honestly didn't believe the back story, but there is a casino in Mexico called the Royal Yak using that logo. Go figure.

As for Mr. Cheese's obsession...I was just stupid enough to put my original $0.25 and $1 up for sale, and he jumped on them for a cash set. I'm starting to wonder which obsession is larger though...Yak or Terribles? He adds on to the Yaks every chance he gets!

And he's not getting any more of mine. :D

I would have to agree. There are times when I'm wondering if I've entered the TerriblesPokerChipForum...

I don't know the "back story", but I'll have to go look it up.

I would be less than honest if I tried to tell anyone that I didn't have Obsessive Chip Disorder (OCD). That said, I don't have a Yaks Disease (YD), nor do I have Terrible's Syndrome (TS).

In the interest of full disclosure, I do have a small set of Cheesy leftover Terrible's - a tiny 100 chip set of uncirculated mixed primary and secondary LaGrange. I reasoned that I needed a set of uncirculated casino RHCs in the collection... to go with the sets of uncirc'd casino Paulson house molds, uncirc'd LCVs, uncirc'd grand inlay RHCs (*NOT* Aces!), uncirc'd B&G jetons and plaques, and uncirc'd Chipcos. Something less than 100/3080 of the Bud Jones Casino Aztar roulettes are uncirc'd, too, but not nearly enough to call a "playable set".

So, folks, no awful YD or TS here... just generic OCD.

The back story is that they were the last chips made by Chipco for the Royal Yak casino in Mexico, but they weren't allowed to use them for gaming.

Seems odd to order a pile of chips without checking first to see if you could use them. Oh well. They are nice chips. :)

Yeah it does seem like a lot of us have Terrible's Syndrome lol.

@ Dave: Haha I'm so glad you sold me those first Yaks :). They were such a good deal and I love that they were able to be customized. If I get another 500 yellow nickels and some more quarters are you going to want some too?

Very nice, I still have yet to put mine to use, other than a couple heads up games.
Sweet chips though!

Thanks xxmurrxx :)

@ Dave: I'll keep you posted on what/when I decide to order. I definitely need more nickels, quarters, and dollars though because I had all 500 nickels, 200 quarters, and 200 $1's out for my game plus some 5's. Actually when I was up to 50 I got a $25 chip out just because I could and we hadn't ever had one out for our cash games yet lol

I have 200 x $5 for that reason. ;)

That said, I have a cash set, and haven't been able to get our players out for a cash game yet other than for one 5c/10c game that only had about $120 on the table (and even then, I had to convince a few people). Our players seem to be convinced that tourneys are the only games worth playing.

Hard to justify adding on to a cash set that may never actually get used.

I've got 200x $5's, 100x $25's, 100x $100's, 60x $500's, 40x $1000's just in case we ever get a super baller cash game going lol. I keep telling my buddies eventually we'll work our way up to 1/2 and then 5/10 cash games etc so we can use more 25's and 100's lol :)

Well I couldn't resist... I ordered up another 500 yellow nickels and 100 more quarters. Now I'll have one entire birdcage of nickels :).

Cool. I hope you don't have any issues with them. I'm still waiting to hear why mine from November have height issues (almost 1 full chip thicker in stacks of 25). I'm hoping Joe figured it out since he is offering them again.

The last order I got which was after you had the issue were all the same height so he must have figured it out. I'd message him again, he probably forgot.

Fair enough. As far as I can tell, I'm the only one who has reported this type of issue, so it's probably just a one-off issue with mine. I hope so.

Jeezum! If it's not "Terrible's this" and "Terrible's that", it's "Yakkity yak yak yak!"

You should get the Aztar tourney set from Jim. Then you'd have over a birdcage of $25s, plus over a birdcage of $100s!

Wow, I've never heard of having height issues with ceramics! I hope PGI makes it right for you.

Still able to order these from pgi?
What's the current price per chip if you don't mind sharing.

Yep you just need to message Joe to order them. I believe it's .39/chip.

Lol Mr. Cheesy Terrible Yakster :)

I really like the look of those Aztar ceramics. Believe me it was tempting but I'm trying to downsize how many different sets I have and just focus on a couple.
