According to Rainman, Paulson decided to make new chips for the WSOP - for free - because the Empress Star chips looked too close to the WSOP secondaries.
Since they seem to match what was shown in the Gaming report, I'd say that at least part of what Rainman said is proving to be true...
However, the reason they did it and how much RIO paid will probably continue to be unknown and cause for argument.
Now Jim from the Chiproom should swoop in and buy all the Old WSOP chips!
Someone posted on CD that they had contacted Caesars because they were concerned about friends that work in the WSOP getting in trouble if any Star chips made it into the tourney.
World Series of PeppermintWhat does the house mold say? World Series of Poker or Rio or other? I can’t make it out.
I know it can’t happen, but wouldn’t that be quite the twist to the saga?
It was all done “for the good of the community.”
Agreed. You can’t fault someone for showing some loyalty to people they previously worked with.Kinda hard to fault the guy if he has people he cares about people that work for the WSOP.
Why not? I think the only chips that NV gaming commission requires to be destroyed are value chips. Since these are NCV's, similar to roulettes, they might actually survive.I know it can’t happen
FWIW the House molds actually have a slightly smaller recess than RHCs which means more clay on clay, they handle and sound great, I loved my relabeled house mold set.Agreed. You can’t fault someone for showing some loyalty to people they previously worked with.
Back to the chips, that house mold makes them look like injection molded plastic chips.
I’m normally a big house mold fan, just not that one.FWIW the House molds actually have a slightly smaller recess than RHCs which means more clay on clay, they handle and sound great, I loved my relabeled house mold set.

I might feel differently if I saw them in person. I don’t like the font either.
